“ဧကဓမ္မေ ပတိဋ္ဌိတဿ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဘိက္ခုနော ပဉ္စိန္ဒြိယာနိ ဘာဝိတာနိ ဟောန္တိ သုဘာဝိတာနိ၊ ကတမသ္မိံ ဧကဓမ္မေ? အပ္ပမာဒေ၊ ကတမော စ ဘိက္ခဝေ, အပ္ပမာဒေါ? ဣဓ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဘိက္ခု စိတ္တံ ရက္ခတိ အာသဝေသု စ သာသဝေသု စ ဓမ္မေသု၊ တဿ စိတ္တံ ရက္ခတော အာသဝေသု စ သာသဝေသု စ ဓမ္မေသု သဒ္ဓိန္ဒြိယမ္ပိ ဘာဝနာပါရိပူရိံ ဂစ္ဆတိ၊ ဝီရိယိန္ဒြိယမ္ပိ ဘာဝနာပါရိပူရိံ ဂစ္ဆတိ၊ သတိန္ဒြိယမ္ပိ ဘာဝနာပါရိပူရိံ ဂစ္ဆတိ၊ သမာဓိန္ဒြိယမ္ပိ ဘာဝနာပါရိပူရိံ ဂစ္ဆတိ၊ ပညိန္ဒြိယမ္ပိ ဘာဝနာပါရိပူရိံ ဂစ္ဆတိ၊ ဧဝမ္ပိ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဧကဓမ္မေ ပတိဋ္ဌိတဿ ဘိက္ခုနော ပဉ္စိန္ဒြိယာနိ ဘာဝိတာနိ ဟောန္တိ သုဘာဝိတာနီ”တိ၊
“Bhikkhus, when a bhikkhu is grounded in one thing the five faculties become developed, well developed. What one thing? Diligence. And what is diligence? It’s when a bhikkhu looks after their mind when it comes to defilements and things that stimulate defilements. As they do so the faculties of faith, energy, mindfulness, samādhi, and wisdom are fully developed. That’s how when a bhikkhu is grounded in one thing the five faculties become developed, well developed.”
