The Simile of Hands and Feet (1st)
“ហត្ថេសុ, ភិក្ខវេ, សតិ អាទាននិក្ខេបនំ បញ្ញាយតិ; បាទេសុ សតិ អភិក្កមបដិក្កមោ បញ្ញាយតិ; បព្ពេសុ សតិ សមិញ្ជនបសារណំ បញ្ញាយតិ; កុច្ឆិស្មិំ សតិ ជិឃច្ឆា បិបាសា បញ្ញាយតិ។
“Bhikkhus, when there are hands, picking up and putting down are found. When there are feet, coming and going are found. When there are joints, contracting and extending are found. When there’s a belly, hunger and thirst are found.
ឯវមេវ ខោ, ភិក្ខវេ, ចក្ខុស្មិំ សតិ ចក្ខុសម្ផស្សបច្ចយា ឧប្បជ្ជតិ អជ្ឈត្តំ សុខំ ទុក្ខំ …បេ… ជិវ្ហាយ សតិ ជិវ្ហាសម្ផស្សបច្ចយា ឧប្បជ្ជតិ អជ្ឈត្តំ សុខំ ទុក្ខំ …បេ… មនស្មិំ សតិ មនោសម្ផស្សបច្ចយា ឧប្បជ្ជតិ អជ្ឈត្តំ សុខំ ទុក្ខំ …បេ…។
In the same way, when there’s an eye, pleasure and pain arise internally conditioned by eye contact. When there’s an ear … nose … tongue … body … mind, pleasure and pain arise internally conditioned by mind contact.
ហត្ថេសុ, ភិក្ខវេ, អសតិ អាទាននិក្ខេបនំ ន បញ្ញាយតិ; បាទេសុ អសតិ អភិក្កមបដិក្កមោ ន បញ្ញាយតិ; បព្ពេសុ អសតិ សមិញ្ជនបសារណំ ន បញ្ញាយតិ; កុច្ឆិស្មិំ អសតិ ជិឃច្ឆា បិបាសា ន បញ្ញាយតិ។
