ပဌမအသေခသုတ္တ
An Adept (1st)
အထ ခေါ အညတရော ဘိက္ခု ယေန ဘဂဝါ တေနုပသင်္ကမိ; ဥပသင်္ကမိတွာ ဘဂဝန္တံ အဘိဝါဒေတွာ ဧကမန္တံ နိသီဒိ၊ ဧကမန္တံ နိသိန္နော ခေါ သော ဘိက္ခု ဘဂဝန္တံ ဧတဒဝေါစ:
Then a bhikkhu went up to the Buddha, bowed, sat down to one side, and said to him:
“‘အသေခေါ အသေခေါ'တိ, ဘန္တေ, ဝုစ္စတိ၊ ကိတ္တာဝတာ ဘန္တေ, ဘိက္ခု အသေခေါ ဟောတီ”တိ?
“Sir, they speak of this person called ‘an adept’. How is an adept bhikkhu defined?”
“ဣဓ, ဘိက္ခု, ဘိက္ခု အသေခါယ သမ္မာဒိဋ္ဌိယာ သမန္နာဂတော ဟောတိ, အသေခေန သမ္မာသင်္ကပ္ပေန သမန္နာဂတော ဟောတိ, အသေခါယ သမ္မာဝါစာယ သမန္နာဂတော ဟောတိ, အသေခေန သမ္မာကမ္မန္တေန သမန္နာဂတော ဟောတိ, အသေခေန သမ္မာအာဇီဝေန သမန္နာဂတော ဟောတိ, အသေခေန သမ္မာဝါယာမေန သမန္နာဂတော ဟောတိ, အသေခါယ သမ္မာသတိယာ သမန္နာဂတော ဟောတိ, အသေခေန သမ္မာသမာဓိနာ သမန္နာဂတော ဟောတိ, အသေခေန သမ္မာဉာဏေန သမန္နာဂတော ဟောတိ, အသေခါယ သမ္မာဝိမုတ္တိယာ သမန္နာဂတော ဟောတိ၊ ဧဝံ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခု, ဘိက္ခု အသေခေါ ဟောတီ”တိ၊
“Bhikkhu, it’s when a bhikkhu has an adept’s right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, right samādhi, right knowledge, and right freedom. That’s how a bhikkhu is an adept.”
