Killing Living Creatures
“චතූහි, භික්ඛවේ, ධම්මේහි සමන්නාගතෝ යථාභතං නික්ඛිත්තෝ ඒවං නිරයේ. කතමේහි චතූහි? අත්තනා ච පාණාතිපාතී හෝති, පරඤ්ච පාණාතිපාතේ සමාදපේති, පාණාතිපාතේ ච සමනුඤ්ඤෝ හෝති, පාණාතිපාතස්ස ච වණ්ණං භාසති—ඉමේහි ඛෝ, භික්ඛවේ, චතූහි ධම්මේහි සමන්නාගතෝ යථාභතං නික්ඛිත්තෝ ඒවං නිරයේ.
“Bhikkhus, someone with four qualities is cast down to hell. What four? They themselves kill living creatures; they encourage others to kill living creatures; they approve of killing living creatures; and they praise killing living creatures. Someone with these four qualities is cast down to hell.
චතූහි, භික්ඛවේ, ධම්මේහි සමන්නාගතෝ යථාභතං නික්ඛිත්තෝ ඒවං සග්ගේ. කතමේහි චතූහි? අත්තනා ච පාණාතිපාතා පටිවිරතෝ හෝති, පරඤ්ච පාණාතිපාතා වේරමණියා සමාදපේති, පාණාතිපාතා වේරමණියා ච සමනුඤ්ඤෝ හෝති, පාණාතිපාතා වේරමණියා ච වණ්ණං භාසති—ඉමේහි ඛෝ, භික්ඛවේ, චතූහි ධම්මේහි සමන්නාගතෝ යථාභතං නික්ඛිත්තෝ ඒවං සග්ගේ”ති.
Someone with four qualities is raised up to heaven. What four? They don’t themselves kill living creatures; they encourage others to not kill living creatures; they approve of not killing living creatures; and they praise not killing living creatures. Someone with these four qualities is raised up to heaven.”
