“សេយ្យថាបិ, ភិក្ខវេ, កុម្ភោ និក្កុជ្ជោ វមតេវ ឧទកំ, នោ បច្ចាវមតិ; ឯវមេវ ខោ, ភិក្ខវេ, ភិក្ខុ អរិយំ អដ្ឋង្គិកំ មគ្គំ ភាវេន្តោ អរិយំ អដ្ឋង្គិកំ មគ្គំ ពហុលីករោន្តោ វមតេវ បាបកេ អកុសលេ ធម្មេ, នោ បច្ចាវមតិ។
“Bhikkhus, suppose a pot full of water is tipped over, so the water drains out and doesn’t go back in. In the same way, a bhikkhu who develops and cultivates the noble eightfold path expels bad, unskillful qualities and doesn’t let them back in.
កថញ្ច, ភិក្ខវេ, ភិក្ខុ អរិយំ អដ្ឋង្គិកំ មគ្គំ ភាវេន្តោ អរិយំ អដ្ឋង្គិកំ មគ្គំ ពហុលីករោន្តោ វមតេវ បាបកេ អកុសលេ ធម្មេ, នោ បច្ចាវមតិ? ឥធ, ភិក្ខវេ, ភិក្ខុ សម្មាទិដ្ឋិំ ភាវេតិ វិវេកនិស្សិតំ វិរាគនិស្សិតំ និរោធនិស្សិតំ វោស្សគ្គបរិណាមិំ …បេ… សម្មាសមាធិំ ភាវេតិ វិវេកនិស្សិតំ វិរាគនិស្សិតំ និរោធនិស្សិតំ វោស្សគ្គបរិណាមិំ … ឯវំ ខោ, ភិក្ខវេ, ភិក្ខុ អរិយំ អដ្ឋង្គិកំ មគ្គំ ភាវេន្តោ អរិយំ អដ្ឋង្គិកំ មគ្គំ ពហុលីករោន្តោ វមតេវ បាបកេ អកុសលេ ធម្មេ, នោ បច្ចាវមតី”តិ។
And how does a bhikkhu who develops the noble eightfold path expel bad, unskillful qualities and not let them back in? It’s when a bhikkhu develops right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right samādhi, which rely on seclusion, fading away, and cessation, and ripen as letting go. That’s how a bhikkhu who develops and cultivates the noble eightfold path expels bad, unskillful qualities and doesn’t let them back in.”
