កស្សកសុត្ត
A Farmer
សាវត្ថិនិទានំ។
At Sāvatthī.
តេន ខោ បន សមយេន ភគវា ភិក្ខូនំ និព្ពានបដិសំយុត្តាយ ធម្មិយា កថាយ សន្ទស្សេតិ សមាទបេតិ សមុត្តេជេតិ សម្បហំសេតិ។ តេ ច ភិក្ខូ អដ្ឋិំ កត្វា មនសិ កត្វា សព្ពចេតសា សមន្នាហរិត្វា ឱហិតសោតា ធម្មំ សុណន្តិ។
Now at that time the Buddha was educating, encouraging, firing up, and inspiring the bhikkhus with a Dhamma talk about Nibbana. And those bhikkhus were paying attention, applying the mind, concentrating wholeheartedly, and actively listening.
អថ ខោ មារស្ស បាបិមតោ ឯតទហោសិ: “អយំ ខោ សមណោ គោតមោ ភិក្ខូនំ និព្ពានបដិសំយុត្តាយ ធម្មិយា កថាយ …បេ… យន្នូនាហំ យេន សមណោ គោតមោ តេនុបសង្កមេយ្យំ វិចក្ខុកម្មាយា”តិ។
Then Māra thought, “The ascetic Gotama is giving a Dhamma talk about Nibbana … and the bhikkhus are listening well. Why don’t I go and pull the wool over their eyes?”
អថ ខោ មារោ បាបិមា កស្សកវណ្ណំ អភិនិម្មិនិត្វា មហន្តំ នង្គលំ ខន្ធេ ករិត្វា ទីឃបាចនយដ្ឋិំ គហេត្វា ហដហដកេសោ សាណសាដិនិវត្ថោ កទ្ទមមក្ខិតេហិ បាទេហិ យេន ភគវា តេនុបសង្កមិ; ឧបសង្កមិត្វា ភគវន្តំ ឯតទវោច: “អបិ, សមណ, ពលីពទ្ទេ អទ្ទសា”តិ?
Then Māra the Wicked manifested in the form of a farmer carrying a large plough on his shoulder. He held a long goad, his hair was messy, he was clad in sunn hemp, and his feet were muddy. He went up to the Buddha and said to him, “So, ascetic, did you happen to see any oxen?”
“កិំ បន, បាបិម, តេ ពលីពទ្ទេហី”តិ?
“But what have you to do with oxen, Wicked One?”
“មមេវ, សមណ, ចក្ខុ, មម រូបា, មម ចក្ខុសម្ផស្សវិញ្ញាណាយតនំ។ កុហិំ មេ, សមណ, គន្ត្វា មោក្ខសិ? មមេវ, សមណ, សោតំ, មម សទ្ទា …បេ… មមេវ, សមណ, ឃានំ, មម គន្ធា; មមេវ, សមណ, ជិវ្ហា, មម រសា; មមេវ, សមណ, កាយោ, មម ផោដ្ឋព្ពា; មមេវ, សមណ, មនោ, មម ធម្មា, មម មនោសម្ផស្សវិញ្ញាណាយតនំ។ កុហិំ មេ, សមណ, គន្ត្វា មោក្ខសី”តិ?
“Mine alone, ascetic, is the eye, mine are sights, mine is the field of eye contact consciousness. Where can you escape me, ascetic? Mine alone is the ear … nose … tongue … body … mind, mine are thoughts, mine is the field of mind contact consciousness. Where can you escape me, ascetic?”
“តវេវ, បាបិម, ចក្ខុ, តវ រូបា, តវ ចក្ខុសម្ផស្សវិញ្ញាណាយតនំ។ យត្ថ ច ខោ, បាបិម, នត្ថិ ចក្ខុ, នត្ថិ រូបា, នត្ថិ ចក្ខុសម្ផស្សវិញ្ញាណាយតនំ, អគតិ តវ តត្ថ, បាបិម។ តវេវ, បាបិម, សោតំ, តវ សទ្ទា, តវ សោតសម្ផស្សវិញ្ញាណាយតនំ។ យត្ថ ច ខោ, បាបិម, នត្ថិ សោតំ, នត្ថិ សទ្ទា, នត្ថិ សោតសម្ផស្សវិញ្ញាណាយតនំ, អគតិ តវ តត្ថ, បាបិម។ តវេវ, បាបិម, ឃានំ, តវ គន្ធា, តវ ឃានសម្ផស្សវិញ្ញាណាយតនំ។ យត្ថ ច ខោ, បាបិម, នត្ថិ ឃានំ, នត្ថិ គន្ធា, នត្ថិ ឃានសម្ផស្សវិញ្ញាណាយតនំ, អគតិ តវ តត្ថ, បាបិម។ តវេវ, បាបិម, ជិវ្ហា, តវ រសា, តវ ជិវ្ហាសម្ផស្សវិញ្ញាណាយតនំ …បេ… តវេវ, បាបិម, កាយោ, តវ ផោដ្ឋព្ពា, តវ កាយសម្ផស្សវិញ្ញាណាយតនំ …បេ… តវេវ, បាបិម, មនោ, តវ ធម្មា, តវ មនោសម្ផស្សវិញ្ញាណាយតនំ។ យត្ថ ច ខោ, បាបិម, នត្ថិ មនោ, នត្ថិ ធម្មា, នត្ថិ មនោសម្ផស្សវិញ្ញាណាយតនំ, អគតិ តវ តត្ថ, បាបិមា”តិ។
“Yours alone, Wicked One, is the eye, yours are sights, yours is the field of eye contact consciousness. Where there is no eye, no sights, no eye contact consciousness—you have no place there, Wicked One! Yours alone is the ear … nose … tongue … body … mind, yours are thoughts, yours is the field of mind contact consciousness. Where there is no mind, no thoughts, no mind contact consciousness—you have no place there, Wicked One!”
“យំ វទន្តិ មម យិទន្តិ, យេ វទន្តិ មមន្តិ ច; ឯត្ថ ចេ តេ មនោ អត្ថិ, ន មេ សមណ មោក្ខសី”តិ។
“The things they call ‘mine’, and those who say ‘it’s mine’: if your mind remains there, you won’t escape me, ascetic!”
“យំ វទន្តិ ន តំ មយ្ហំ, យេ វទន្តិ ន តេ អហំ; ឯវំ បាបិម ជានាហិ, ន មេ មគ្គម្បិ ទក្ខសី”តិ។
“The things they speak of aren’t mine; I’m not someone who speaks like that. So know this, Wicked One: you won’t even see the path I take.”
អថ ខោ មារោ បាបិមា …បេ… តត្ថេវន្តរធាយីតិ។
Then Māra … vanished right there.
