សាវត្ថិយំ វិហរតិ។
At Sāvatthī.
“យេ ហិ កេចិ, ភិក្ខវេ, សមណា វា ព្រាហ្មណា វា ឥមេ ធម្មេ នប្បជានន្តិ, ឥមេសំ ធម្មានំ សមុទយំ នប្បជានន្តិ, ឥមេសំ ធម្មានំ និរោធំ នប្បជានន្តិ, ឥមេសំ ធម្មានំ និរោធគាមិនិំ បដិបទំ នប្បជានន្តិ, កតមេ ធម្មេ នប្បជានន្តិ, កតមេសំ ធម្មានំ សមុទយំ នប្បជានន្តិ, កតមេសំ ធម្មានំ និរោធំ នប្បជានន្តិ, កតមេសំ ធម្មានំ និរោធគាមិនិំ បដិបទំ នប្បជានន្តិ?
“Bhikkhus, there are ascetics and brahmins who don’t understand these things, their origin, their cessation, and the practice that leads to their cessation. What things don’t they understand?
ជរាមរណំ នប្បជានន្តិ, ជរាមរណសមុទយំ នប្បជានន្តិ, ជរាមរណនិរោធំ នប្បជានន្តិ, ជរាមរណនិរោធគាមិនិំ បដិបទំ នប្បជានន្តិ; ជាតិំ …បេ… ភវំ … ឧបាទានំ … តណ្ហំ … វេទនំ … ផស្សំ … សឡាយតនំ … នាមរូបំ … វិញ្ញាណំ … សង្ខារេ នប្បជានន្តិ, សង្ខារសមុទយំ នប្បជានន្តិ, សង្ខារនិរោធំ នប្បជានន្តិ, សង្ខារនិរោធគាមិនិំ បដិបទំ នប្បជានន្តិ។ ឥមេ ធម្មេ នប្បជានន្តិ, ឥមេសំ ធម្មានំ សមុទយំ នប្បជានន្តិ, ឥមេសំ ធម្មានំ និរោធំ នប្បជានន្តិ, ឥមេសំ ធម្មានំ និរោធគាមិនិំ បដិបទំ នប្បជានន្តិ។ ន មេ តេ, ភិក្ខវេ, សមណា វា ព្រាហ្មណា វា សមណេសុ វា សមណសម្មតា ព្រាហ្មណេសុ វា ព្រាហ្មណសម្មតា, ន ច បន តេ អាយស្មន្តោ សាមញ្ញត្ថំ វា ព្រហ្មញ្ញត្ថំ វា ទិដ្ឋេវ ធម្មេ សយំ អភិញ្ញា សច្ឆិកត្វា ឧបសម្បជ្ជ វិហរន្តិ។
They don’t understand old age and death, their origin, their cessation, and the practice that leads to their cessation. They don’t understand rebirth … continued existence … grasping … craving … feeling … contact … the six sense fields … name and form … consciousness … They don’t understand functioning patterns, their origin, their cessation, and the practice that leads to their cessation. They don’t understand these things, their origin, their cessation, and the practice that leads to their cessation. I don’t deem them as true ascetics and brahmins. Those venerables don’t realize the goal of life as an ascetic or brahmin, and don’t live having realized it with their own insight.
យេ ច ខោ កេចិ, ភិក្ខវេ, សមណា វា ព្រាហ្មណា វា ឥមេ ធម្មេ បជានន្តិ, ឥមេសំ ធម្មានំ សមុទយំ បជានន្តិ, ឥមេសំ ធម្មានំ និរោធំ បជានន្តិ, ឥមេសំ ធម្មានំ និរោធគាមិនិំ បដិបទំ បជានន្តិ, កតមេ ធម្មេ បជានន្តិ, កតមេសំ ធម្មានំ សមុទយំ បជានន្តិ, កតមេសំ ធម្មានំ និរោធំ បជានន្តិ, កតមេសំ ធម្មានំ និរោធគាមិនិំ បដិបទំ បជានន្តិ?
There are ascetics and brahmins who do understand these things, their origin, their cessation, and the practice that leads to their cessation. What things do they understand?
ជរាមរណំ បជានន្តិ, ជរាមរណសមុទយំ បជានន្តិ, ជរាមរណនិរោធំ បជានន្តិ, ជរាមរណនិរោធគាមិនិំ បដិបទំ បជានន្តិ; ជាតិំ …បេ… ភវំ … ឧបាទានំ … តណ្ហំ … វេទនំ … ផស្សំ … សឡាយតនំ … នាមរូបំ … វិញ្ញាណំ … សង្ខារេ បជានន្តិ, សង្ខារសមុទយំ បជានន្តិ, សង្ខារនិរោធំ បជានន្តិ, សង្ខារនិរោធគាមិនិំ បដិបទំ បជានន្តិ។ ឥមេ ធម្មេ បជានន្តិ, ឥមេសំ ធម្មានំ សមុទយំ បជានន្តិ, ឥមេសំ ធម្មានំ និរោធំ បជានន្តិ, ឥមេសំ ធម្មានំ និរោធគាមិនិំ បដិបទំ បជានន្តិ។ តេ ខោ មេ, ភិក្ខវេ, សមណា វា ព្រាហ្មណា វា សមណេសុ ចេវ សមណសម្មតា, ព្រាហ្មណេសុ ច ព្រាហ្មណសម្មតា។ តេ ច បនាយស្មន្តោ សាមញ្ញត្ថញ្ច ព្រហ្មញ្ញត្ថញ្ច ទិដ្ឋេវ ធម្មេ សយំ អភិញ្ញា សច្ឆិកត្វា ឧបសម្បជ្ជ វិហរន្តី”តិ។
They understand old age and death, their origin, their cessation, and the practice that leads to their cessation.
