အထ ခေါ အာယသ္မာ သာရိပုတ္တော ယေန ဘဂဝါ တေနုပသင်္ကမိ; ဥပသင်္ကမိတွာ ဘဂဝန္တံ အဘိဝါဒေတွာ ဧကမန္တံ နိသီဒိ၊ ဧကမန္တံ နိသိန္နံ ခေါ အာယသ္မန္တံ သာရိပုတ္တံ ဘဂဝါ ဧတဒဝေါစ:
Then Venerable Sāriputta went up to the Buddha, bowed, and sat down to one side. The Buddha said to him:
“ကတိ နု ခေါ, သာရိပုတ္တ, ခီဏာသဝဿ ဘိက္ခုနော ဗလာနိ, ယေဟိ ဗလေဟိ သမန္နာဂတော ခီဏာသဝေါ ဘိက္ခု အာသဝါနံ ခယံ ပဋိဇာနာတိ: ‘ခီဏာ မေ အာသဝါ'”တိ?
“Sāriputta, how many powers does a bhikkhu who has ended the defilements have that qualify them to claim: ‘My defilements have ended’?”
“အဋ္ဌ, ဘန္တေ, ခီဏာသဝဿ ဘိက္ခုနော ဗလာနိ, ယေဟိ ဗလေဟိ သမန္နာဂတော ခီဏာသဝေါ ဘိက္ခု အာသဝါနံ ခယံ ပဋိဇာနာတိ: ‘ခီဏာ မေ အာသဝါ'တိ၊
“Sir, a bhikkhu who has ended the defilements has eight powers that qualify them to claim: ‘My defilements have ended.’
ကတမာနိ အဋ္ဌ? ဣဓ, ဘန္တေ, ခီဏာသဝဿ ဘိက္ခုနော အနိစ္စတော သဗ္ဗေ သင်္ခါရာ ယထာဘူတံ သမ္မပ္ပညာယ သုဒိဋ္ဌာ ဟောန္တိ၊ ယမ္ပိ, ဘန္တေ, ခီဏာသဝဿ ဘိက္ခုနော အနိစ္စတော သဗ္ဗေ သင်္ခါရာ ယထာဘူတံ သမ္မပ္ပညာယ သုဒိဋ္ဌာ ဟောန္တိ, ဣဒမ္ပိ, ဘန္တေ, ခီဏာသဝဿ ဘိက္ခုနော ဗလံ ဟောတိ, ယံ ဗလံ အာဂမ္မ ခီဏာသဝေါ ဘိက္ခု အာသဝါနံ ခယံ ပဋိဇာနာတိ: ‘ခီဏာ မေ အာသဝါ'တိ၊
What eight? Firstly, a bhikkhu with defilements ended has clearly seen with right wisdom all conditions as truly impermanent. This is a power that a bhikkhu who has ended the defilements relies on to claim: ‘My defilements have ended.’
ပုန စပရံ, ဘန္တေ, ခီဏာသဝဿ ဘိက္ခုနော အင်္ဂါရကာသူပမာ ကာမာ ယထာဘူတံ သမ္မပ္ပညာယ သုဒိဋ္ဌာ ဟောန္တိ၊ ယမ္ပိ, ဘန္တေ, ခီဏာသဝဿ ဘိက္ခုနော အင်္ဂါရကာသူပမာ ကာမာ ယထာဘူတံ သမ္မပ္ပညာယ သုဒိဋ္ဌာ ဟောန္တိ, ဣဒမ္ပိ, ဘန္တေ, ခီဏာသဝဿ ဘိက္ခုနော ဗလံ ဟောတိ, ယံ ဗလံ အာဂမ္မ ခီဏာသဝေါ ဘိက္ခု အာသဝါနံ ခယံ ပဋိဇာနာတိ: ‘ခီဏာ မေ အာသဝါ'တိ၊
Furthermore, a bhikkhu with defilements ended has clearly seen with right wisdom that sensual pleasures are truly like a pit of glowing coals. This is a power that a bhikkhu who has ended the defilements relies on to claim: ‘My defilements have ended.’
ပုန စပရံ, ဘန္တေ, ခီဏာသဝဿ ဘိက္ခုနော ဝိဝေကနိန္နံ စိတ္တံ ဟောတိ ဝိဝေကပေါဏံ ဝိဝေကပဗ္ဘာရံ ဝိဝေကဋ္ဌံ နေက္ခမ္မာဘိရတံ ဗျန္တိဘူတံ သဗ္ဗသော အာသဝဋ္ဌာနိယေဟိ ဓမ္မေဟိ၊ ယမ္ပိ, ဘန္တေ, ခီဏာသဝဿ ဘိက္ခုနော ဝိဝေကနိန္နံ စိတ္တံ ဟောတိ ဝိဝေကပေါဏံ ဝိဝေကပဗ္ဘာရံ ဝိဝေကဋ္ဌံ နေက္ခမ္မာဘိရတံ ဗျန္တိဘူတံ သဗ္ဗသော အာသဝဋ္ဌာနိယေဟိ ဓမ္မေဟိ, ဣဒမ္ပိ, ဘန္တေ, ခီဏာသဝဿ ဘိက္ခုနော ဗလံ ဟောတိ, ယံ ဗလံ အာဂမ္မ ခီဏာသဝေါ ဘိက္ခု အာသဝါနံ ခယံ ပဋိဇာနာတိ: ‘ခီဏာ မေ အာသဝါ'တိ၊
Furthermore, the mind of a bhikkhu with defilements ended slants, slopes, and inclines to seclusion. They’re withdrawn, loving renunciation, and they’ve totally done with defiling influences. This is a power that a bhikkhu who has ended the defilements relies on to claim: ‘My defilements have ended.’
ပုန စပရံ, ဘန္တေ, ခီဏာသဝဿ ဘိက္ခုနော စတ္တာရော သတိပဋ္ဌာနာ ဘာဝိတာ ဟောန္တိ သုဘာဝိတာ၊ ယမ္ပိ, ဘန္တေ, ခီဏာသဝဿ ဘိက္ခုနော စတ္တာရော သတိပဋ္ဌာနာ ဘာဝိတာ ဟောန္တိ သုဘာဝိတာ, ဣဒမ္ပိ, ဘန္တေ, ခီဏာသဝဿ ဘိက္ခုနော ဗလံ ဟောတိ, ယံ ဗလံ အာဂမ္မ ခီဏာသဝေါ ဘိက္ခု အာသဝါနံ ခယံ ပဋိဇာနာတိ: ‘ခီဏာ မေ အာသဝါ'တိ၊
Furthermore, a bhikkhu with defilements ended has well developed the four kinds of mindfulness meditation. This is a power that a bhikkhu who has ended the defilements relies on to claim: ‘My defilements have ended.’
ပုန စပရံ, ဘန္တေ, ခီဏာသဝဿ ဘိက္ခုနော စတ္တာရော ဣဒ္ဓိပါဒါ ဘာဝိတာ ဟောန္တိ သုဘာဝိတာ …ပေ… ပဉ္စိန္ဒြိယာနိ ဘာဝိတာနိ ဟောန္တိ သုဘာဝိတာနိ …ပေ… သတ္တ ဗောဇ္ဈင်္ဂါ ဘာဝိတာ ဟောန္တိ သုဘာဝိတာ …ပေ… အရိယော အဋ္ဌင်္ဂိကော မဂ္ဂေါ ဘာဝိတော ဟောတိ သုဘာဝိတော၊ ယမ္ပိ, ဘန္တေ, ခီဏာသဝဿ ဘိက္ခုနော အရိယော အဋ္ဌင်္ဂိကော မဂ္ဂေါ ဘာဝိတော ဟောတိ သုဘာဝိတော, ဣဒမ္ပိ, ဘန္တေ, ခီဏာသဝဿ ဘိက္ခုနော ဗလံ ဟောတိ, ယံ ဗလံ အာဂမ္မ ခီဏာသဝေါ ဘိက္ခု အာသဝါနံ ခယံ ပဋိဇာနာတိ: ‘ခီဏာ မေ အာသဝါ'တိ၊
Furthermore, a bhikkhu with defilements ended has well developed the four bases of psychic power … the five faculties … the seven awakening factors … the noble eightfold path. This is a power that a bhikkhu who has ended the defilements relies on to claim: ‘My defilements have ended.’
ဣမာနိ ခေါ, ဘန္တေ, အဋ္ဌ ခီဏာသဝဿ ဘိက္ခုနော ဗလာနိ, ယေဟိ ဗလေဟိ သမန္နာဂတော ခီဏာသဝေါ ဘိက္ခု အာသဝါနံ ခယံ ပဋိဇာနာတိ: ‘ခီဏာ မေ အာသဝါ'”တိ၊
A bhikkhu who has ended the defilements has these eight powers that qualify them to claim: ‘My defilements have ended.’”
