ឯកំ សមយំ ភគវា សាវត្ថិយំ វិហរតិ ជេតវនេ អនាថបិណ្ឌិកស្ស អារាមេ … “ចតស្សោ ឥមា, ភិក្ខវេ, ធាតុយោ។ កតមា ចតស្សោ? បថវីធាតុ, អាបោធាតុ, តេជោធាតុ, វាយោធាតុ—ឥមា ខោ, ភិក្ខវេ, ចតស្សោ ធាតុយោ”តិ។
At one time the Buddha was staying near Sāvatthī in Jeta’s Grove, Anāthapiṇḍika’s monastery. … “Bhikkhus, there are these four elements. What four? The elements of earth, water, fire, and air. These are the four elements.”
