Ignoble Expressions

“අට්ඨිමේ, භික්ඛවේ, අනරියවෝහාරා. කතමේ අට්ඨ? අදිට්ඨේ දිට්ඨවාදිතා, අසුතේ සුතවාදිතා, අමුතේ මුතවාදිතා, අවිඤ්ඤාතේ විඤ්ඤාතවාදිතා, දිට්ඨේ අදිට්ඨවාදිතා, සුතේ අසුතවාදිතා, මුතේ අමුතවාදිතා, විඤ්ඤාතේ අවිඤ්ඤාතවාදිතා. ඉමේ ඛෝ, භික්ඛවේ, අට්ඨ අනරියවෝහාරා”ති.

“Bhikkhus, there are these eight ignoble expressions. What eight? Saying you’ve seen, heard, thought, or known something, but you haven’t. And saying you haven’t seen, heard, thought, or known something, and you have. These are the eight ignoble expressions.”
