විඤ්ඤාණඅඤ්ඤාණසුත්ත
Not Knowing Consciousness
සාවත්ථිනිදානං.
At Sāvatthī.
ඒකමන්තං නිසින්නෝ ඛෝ වච්ඡගෝත්තෝ පරිබ්බාජකෝ භගවන්තං ඒතදවෝච:
Then the wanderer Vacchagotta said to the Buddha:
“කෝ නු ඛෝ, භෝ ගෝතම, හේතු, කෝ පච්චයෝ, යානිමානි අනේකවිහිතානි දිට්ඨිගතානි ලෝකේ උප්පජ්ජන්ති—සස්සතෝ ලෝකෝති වා, අසස්සතෝ ලෝකෝති වා …පේ… නේව හෝති න න හෝති තථාගතෝ පරං මරණාති වා”ති?
“What is the cause, Master Gotama, what is the reason why these various misconceptions arise in the world? …”
“විඤ්ඤාණේ ඛෝ, වච්ඡ, අඤ්ඤාණා, විඤ්ඤාණසමුදයේ අඤ්ඤාණා, විඤ්ඤාණනිරෝධේ අඤ්ඤාණා, විඤ්ඤාණනිරෝධගාමිනියා පටිපදාය අඤ්ඤාණා; ඒවමිමානි අනේකවිහිතානි දිට්ඨිගතානි ලෝකේ උප්පජ්ජන්ති—සස්සතෝ ලෝකෝති වා, අසස්සතෝ ලෝකෝති වා …පේ… නේව හෝති න න හෝති තථාගතෝ පරං මරණාති වාති. අයං ඛෝ, වච්ඡ, හේතු, අයං පච්චයෝ, යානිමානි අනේකවිහිතානි දිට්ඨිගතානි ලෝකේ උප්පජ්ජන්ති—සස්සතෝ ලෝකෝති වා, අසස්සතෝ ලෝකෝති වා …පේ… නේව හෝති න න හෝති තථාගතෝ පරං මරණාති වා”ති.
“Vaccha, it is because of not knowing consciousness, its origin, its cessation, and the practice that leads to its cessation …”
