ဝဇ္ဇီသုတ္တ
In the Land of the Vajjis
ဧကံ သမယံ ဘဂဝါ ဝဇ္ဇီသု ဝိဟရတိ ဟတ္ထိဂါမေ၊ အထ ခေါ ဥဂ္ဂေါ ဂဟပတိ ဟတ္ထိဂါမကော ယေန ဘဂဝါ တေနုပသင်္ကမိ; ဥပသင်္ကမိတွာ ဧကမန္တံ နိသီဒိ၊ ဧကမန္တံ နိသိန္နော ခေါ ဥဂ္ဂေါ ဂဟပတိ ဟတ္ထိဂါမကော ဘဂဝန္တံ ဧတဒဝေါစ:
At one time the Buddha was staying in the land of the Vajjis at Elephant Village. Then the householder Ugga of Elephant Village went up to the Buddha, sat down to one side, and said to him:
“ကော နု ခေါ, ဘန္တေ, ဟေတု ကော ပစ္စယော ယေန မ်'ဣဓေကစ္စေ သတ္တာ ဒိဋ္ဌေဝ ဓမ္မေ နော ပရိနိဗ္ဗာယန္တိ? ကော ပန, ဘန္တေ, ဟေတု ကော ပစ္စယော ယေန မ်'ဣဓေကစ္စေ သတ္တာ ဒိဋ္ဌေဝ ဓမ္မေ ပရိနိဗ္ဗာယန္တီ”တိ?
“What is the cause, sir, what is the reason why some sentient beings aren’t fully extinguished in the present life? What is the cause, sir, what is the reason why some sentient beings are fully extinguished in the present life?” …
