ကတမေ စ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, သံယောဇနိယာ ဓမ္မာ, ကတမဉ္စ သံယောဇနံ? သန္တိ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, စက္ခုဝိညေယျာ ရူပါ ဣဋ္ဌာ ကန္တာ မနာပါ ပိယရူပါ ကာမူပသံဟိတာ ရဇနီယာ၊ ဣမေ ဝုစ္စန္တိ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, သံယောဇနိယာ ဓမ္မာ၊ ယော တတ္ထ ဆန္ဒရာဂေါ, တံ တတ္ထ သံယောဇနံ …ပေ…
What are the things that are prone to being fettered? And what is the fetter? There are sights known by the eye that are likable, desirable, agreeable, pleasant, sensual, and arousing. These are called the things that are prone to being fettered. The desire and greed for them is the fetter.
သန္တိ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဇိဝှါဝိညေယျာ ရသာ …ပေ… သန္တိ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, မနောဝိညေယျာ ဓမ္မာ ဣဋ္ဌာ ကန္တာ မနာပါ ပိယရူပါ ကာမူပသံဟိတာ ရဇနီယာ၊ ဣမေ ဝုစ္စန္တိ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, သံယောဇနိယာ ဓမ္မာ၊ ယော တတ္ထ ဆန္ဒရာဂေါ တံ တတ္ထ သံယောဇနန်”တိ၊
There are sounds … smells … tastes … touches … thoughts known by the mind that are likable, desirable, agreeable, pleasant, sensual, and arousing. These are called the things that are prone to being fettered. The desire and greed for them is the fetter.”
