A Laywoman
“दसहि, भिक्खवे, धम्मेहि समन्नागता उपासिका यथाभतं निक्खित्ता एवं निरये। कतमेहि दसहि? पाणातिपातिनी होति …पे… मिच्छादिट्ठिका होति …। इमेहि खो, भिक्खवे, दसहि धम्मेहि समन्नागता उपासिका यथाभतं निक्खित्ता एवं निरये।
“Dasahi, bhikkhave, dhammehi samannāgatā upāsikā yathābhataṁ nikkhittā evaṁ niraye. Katamehi dasahi? Pāṇātipātinī hoti …pe… micchādiṭṭhikā hoti …. Imehi kho, bhikkhave, dasahi dhammehi samannāgatā upāsikā yathābhataṁ nikkhittā evaṁ niraye.
“A laywoman with ten qualities is cast down to hell. What ten? She kills living creatures. … She has wrong view. … A laywoman with these ten qualities is cast down to hell.
दसहि, भिक्खवे, धम्मेहि समन्नागता उपासिका यथाभतं निक्खित्ता एवं सग्गे। कतमेहि दसहि? पाणातिपाता पटिविरता होति …पे… सम्मादिट्ठिका होति …। इमेहि खो, भिक्खवे, दसहि धम्मेहि समन्नागता उपासिका यथाभतं निक्खित्ता एवं सग्गे”।
Dasahi, bhikkhave, dhammehi samannāgatā upāsikā yathābhataṁ nikkhittā evaṁ sagge. Katamehi dasahi? Pāṇātipātā paṭiviratā hoti …pe… sammādiṭṭhikā hoti …. Imehi kho, bhikkhave, dasahi dhammehi samannāgatā upāsikā yathābhataṁ nikkhittā evaṁ sagge”.
A laywoman with ten qualities is raised up to heaven. What ten? She doesn’t kill living creatures. … She has right view. … A laywoman with these ten qualities is raised up to heaven.”
