At Sāvatthī.
“ဓာတုသောဝ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, သတ္တာ သံသန္ဒန္တိ သမေန္တိ၊ ပါဏာတိပါတိနော ပါဏာတိပါတီဟိ သဒ္ဓိံ သံသန္ဒန္တိ သမေန္တိ; အဒိန္နာဒါယိနော အဒိန္နာဒါယီဟိ သဒ္ဓိံ သံသန္ဒန္တိ သမေန္တိ; ကာမေသုမိစ္ဆာစာရိနော ကာမေသုမိစ္ဆာစာရီဟိ သဒ္ဓိံ သံသန္ဒန္တိ သမေန္တိ; မုသာဝါဒိနော မုသာဝါဒီဟိ သဒ္ဓိံ သံသန္ဒန္တိ သမေန္တိ; ပိသုဏဝါစာ ပိသုဏဝါစေဟိ သဒ္ဓိံ သံသန္ဒန္တိ သမေန္တိ; ဖရုသဝါစာ ဖရုသဝါစေဟိ သဒ္ဓိံ သံသန္ဒန္တိ သမေန္တိ; သမ္ဖပ္ပလာပိနော သမ္ဖပ္ပလာပီဟိ သဒ္ဓိံ သံသန္ဒန္တိ သမေန္တိ၊
“Bhikkhus, sentient beings come together and converge because of an element: those who kill living creatures with those who kill living creatures, those who steal … commit sexual misconduct … lie … speak divisively … speak harshly … talk nonsense …
ပါဏာတိပါတာ ပဋိဝိရတာ …ပေ… အဒိန္နာဒါနာ ပဋိဝိရတာ … ကာမေသုမိစ္ဆာစာရာ ပဋိဝိရတာ … မုသာဝါဒါ ပဋိဝိရတာ … ပိသုဏာယ ဝါစာယ ပဋိဝိရတာ ပိသုဏာယ ဝါစာယ ပဋိဝိရတေဟိ သဒ္ဓိံ သံသန္ဒန္တိ သမေန္တိ; ဖရုသာယ ဝါစာယ ပဋိဝိရတာ ဖရုသာယ ဝါစာယ ပဋိဝိရတေဟိ သဒ္ဓိံ သံသန္ဒန္တိ သမေန္တိ; သမ္ဖပ္ပလာပါ ပဋိဝိရတာ သမ္ဖပ္ပလာပါ ပဋိဝိရတေဟိ သဒ္ဓိံ သံသန္ဒန္တိ သမေန္တီ”တိ၊
Those who refrain from killing living creatures. … who refrain from stealing … who refrain from sexual misconduct … who refrain from lying … who refrain from divisive speech … who refrain from harsh speech … who refrain from talking nonsense with those who refrain from talking nonsense.”
