Assurance
“ပဉ္စိမေ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, သေခဝေသာရဇ္ဇကရဏာ ဓမ္မာ၊ ကတမေ ပဉ္စ? ဣဓ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဘိက္ခု သဒ္ဓေါ ဟောတိ, သီလဝါ ဟောတိ, ဗဟုဿုတော ဟောတိ, အာရဒ္ဓဝီရိယော ဟောတိ, ပညဝါ ဟောတိ၊
“Bhikkhus, these five qualities make a trainee assured. What five? It’s when a bhikkhu is faithful, ethical, learned, energetic, and wise.
ယံ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, အဿဒ္ဓဿ သာရဇ္ဇံ ဟောတိ, သဒ္ဓဿ တံ သာရဇ္ဇံ န ဟောတိ၊ တသ္မာယံ ဓမ္မော သေခဝေသာရဇ္ဇကရဏော၊
A person of faith doesn’t have the insecurities of someone who lacks faith. So this quality makes a trainee assured.
ယံ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဒုဿီလဿ သာရဇ္ဇံ ဟောတိ, သီလဝတော တံ သာရဇ္ဇံ န ဟောတိ၊ တသ္မာယံ ဓမ္မော သေခဝေသာရဇ္ဇကရဏော၊
An ethical person doesn’t have the insecurities of someone who is unethical. So this quality makes a trainee assured.
ယံ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, အပ္ပဿုတဿ သာရဇ္ဇံ ဟောတိ, ဗဟုဿုတဿ တံ သာရဇ္ဇံ န ဟောတိ၊ တသ္မာယံ ဓမ္မော သေခဝေသာရဇ္ဇကရဏော၊
A learned person doesn’t have the insecurities of a person of little learning. So this quality makes a trainee assured.
ယံ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ကုသီတဿ သာရဇ္ဇံ ဟောတိ, အာရဒ္ဓဝီရိယဿ တံ သာရဇ္ဇံ န ဟောတိ၊ တသ္မာယံ ဓမ္မော သေခဝေသာရဇ္ဇကရဏော၊
An energetic person doesn’t have the insecurities of a lazy person. So this quality makes a trainee assured.
ယံ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဒုပ္ပညဿ သာရဇ္ဇံ ဟောတိ, ပညဝတော တံ သာရဇ္ဇံ န ဟောတိ၊ တသ္မာယံ ဓမ္မော သေခဝေသာရဇ္ဇကရဏော၊
A wise person doesn’t have the insecurities of someone who is witless. So this quality makes a trainee assured.
ဣမေ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ပဉ္စ သေခဝေသာရဇ္ဇကရဏာ ဓမ္မာ”တိ၊
These are the five qualities that make a trainee assured.”
