Functioning Patterns
“တယောမေ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ပုဂ္ဂလာ သန္တော သံဝိဇ္ဇမာနာ လောကသ္မိံ၊ ကတမေ တယော?
“These three people are found in the world. What three?
ဣဓ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဧကစ္စော ပုဂ္ဂလော သဗျာဗဇ္ဈံ ကာယသင်္ခါရံ အဘိသင်္ခရောတိ, သဗျာဗဇ္ဈံ ဝစီသင်္ခါရံ အဘိသင်္ခရောတိ, သဗျာဗဇ္ဈံ မနောသင်္ခါရံ အဘိသင်္ခရောတိ၊ သော သဗျာဗဇ္ဈံ ကာယသင်္ခါရံ အဘိသင်္ခရိတွာ, သဗျာဗဇ္ဈံ ဝစီသင်္ခါရံ အဘိသင်္ခရိတွာ, သဗျာဗဇ္ဈံ မနောသင်္ခါရံ အဘိသင်္ခရိတွာ သဗျာဗဇ္ဈံ လောကံ ဥပပဇ္ဇတိ၊ တမေနံ သဗျာဗဇ္ဈံ လောကံ ဥပပန္နံ သမာနံ သဗျာဗဇ္ဈာ ဖဿာ ဖုသန္တိ၊ သော သဗျာဗဇ္ဈေဟိ ဖဿေဟိ ဖုဋ္ဌော သမာနော သဗျာဗဇ္ဈံ ဝေဒနံ ဝေဒယတိ ဧကန္တဒုက္ခံ, သေယျထာပိ သတ္တာ နေရယိကာ၊
Firstly, a certain person creates hurtful habitual functioning patterns of the body, speech, and mind. Having made these functioning patterns, they’re reborn in a hurtful world, where hurtful contacts strike them. Touched by hurtful contacts, they experience hurtful feelings that are exclusively painful—like the beings in hell.
ဣဓ ပန, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဧကစ္စော ပုဂ္ဂလော အဗျာဗဇ္ဈံ ကာယသင်္ခါရံ အဘိသင်္ခရောတိ, အဗျာဗဇ္ဈံ ဝစီသင်္ခါရံ အဘိသင်္ခရောတိ, အဗျာဗဇ္ဈံ မနောသင်္ခါရံ အဘိသင်္ခရောတိ၊ သော အဗျာဗဇ္ဈံ ကာယသင်္ခါရံ အဘိသင်္ခရိတွာ, အဗျာဗဇ္ဈံ ဝစီသင်္ခါရံ အဘိသင်္ခရိတွာ, အဗျာဗဇ္ဈံ မနောသင်္ခါရံ အဘိသင်္ခရိတွာ အဗျာဗဇ္ဈံ လောကံ ဥပပဇ္ဇတိ၊ တမေနံ အဗျာဗဇ္ဈံ လောကံ ဥပပန္နံ သမာနံ အဗျာဗဇ္ဈာ ဖဿာ ဖုသန္တိ၊ သော အဗျာဗဇ္ဈေဟိ ဖဿေဟိ ဖုဋ္ဌော သမာနော အဗျာဗဇ္ဈံ ဝေဒနံ ဝေဒယတိ ဧကန္တသုခံ, သေယျထာပိ ဒေဝါ သုဘကိဏှာ၊
Furthermore, another person creates pleasing habitual functioning patterns of the body, speech, and mind. Having made these functioning patterns, they are reborn in a pleasing world, where pleasing contacts strike them. Touched by pleasing contacts, they experience pleasing feelings that are exclusively happy—like the gods replete with glory.

Furthermore, another person creates both hurtful and pleasing habitual functioning patterns of the body, speech, and mind. Having made these functioning patterns, they are reborn in a world that is both hurtful and pleasing, where hurtful and pleasing contacts strike them. Touched by both hurtful and pleasing contacts, they experience both hurtful and pleasing feelings that are a mixture of pleasure and pain—like humans, some gods, and some beings in the underworld.
ဣမေ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, တယော ပုဂ္ဂလာ သန္တော သံဝိဇ္ဇမာနာ လောကသ္မိန်”တိ၊
These are the three people found in the world.”
