Patients
“တယောမေ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဂိလာနာ သန္တော သံဝိဇ္ဇမာနာ လောကသ္မိံ၊ ကတမေ တယော?
“These three patients are found in the world. What three?
ဣဓ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဧကစ္စော ဂိလာနော လဘန္တော ဝါ သပ္ပါယာနိ ဘောဇနာနိ အလဘန္တော ဝါ သပ္ပါယာနိ ဘောဇနာနိ, လဘန္တော ဝါ သပ္ပါယာနိ ဘေသဇ္ဇာနိ အလဘန္တော ဝါ သပ္ပါယာနိ ဘေသဇ္ဇာနိ, လဘန္တော ဝါ ပတိရူပံ ဥပဋ္ဌာကံ အလဘန္တော ဝါ ပတိရူပံ ဥပဋ္ဌာကံ နေဝ ဝုဋ္ဌာတိ တမှာ အာဗာဓာ၊
In some cases a patient won’t recover from an illness, regardless of whether or not they get suitable food and medicines, and a capable carer.
ဣဓ ပန, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဧကစ္စော ဂိလာနော လဘန္တော ဝါ သပ္ပါယာနိ ဘောဇနာနိ အလဘန္တော ဝါ သပ္ပါယာနိ ဘောဇနာနိ, လဘန္တော ဝါ သပ္ပါယာနိ ဘေသဇ္ဇာနိ အလဘန္တော ဝါ သပ္ပါယာနိ ဘေသဇ္ဇာနိ, လဘန္တော ဝါ ပတိရူပံ ဥပဋ္ဌာကံ အလဘန္တော ဝါ ပတိရူပံ ဥပဋ္ဌာကံ ဝုဋ္ဌာတိ တမှာ အာဗာဓာ၊

ဣဓ ပန, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဧကစ္စော ဂိလာနော လဘန္တောဝ သပ္ပါယာနိ ဘောဇနာနိ နော အလဘန္တော, လဘန္တောဝ သပ္ပါယာနိ ဘေသဇ္ဇာနိ နော အလဘန္တော, လဘန္တောဝ ပတိရူပံ ဥပဋ္ဌာကံ နော အလဘန္တော ဝုဋ္ဌာတိ တမှာ အာဗာဓာ၊
In some cases a patient can recover from an illness, but only if they get suitable food and medicines, and a capable carer, and not if they don’t get these things.
တတြ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ယွာယံ ဂိလာနော လဘန္တောဝ သပ္ပါယာနိ ဘောဇနာနိ နော အလဘန္တော, လဘန္တောဝ သပ္ပါယာနိ ဘေသဇ္ဇာနိ နော အလဘန္တော, လဘန္တောဝ ပတိရူပံ ဥပဋ္ဌာကံ နော အလဘန္တော ဝုဋ္ဌာတိ တမှာ အာဗာဓာ, ဣမံ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဂိလာနံ ပဋိစ္စ ဂိလာနဘတ္တံ အနုညာတံ ဂိလာနဘေသဇ္ဇံ အနုညာတံ ဂိလာနုပဋ္ဌာကော အနုညာတော၊ ဣမဉ္စ ပန, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဂိလာနံ ပဋိစ္စ အညေပိ ဂိလာနာ ဥပဋ္ဌာတဗ္ဗာ၊
Now, it’s for the sake of the last patient—who will recover only if they get suitable food and medicines, and a capable carer—that food, medicines, and a carer are prescribed. But also, for the sake of this patient, the other patients should be looked after.
ဣမေ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, တယော ဂိလာနာ သန္တော သံဝိဇ္ဇမာနာ လောကသ္မိံ၊
These are the three kinds of patients found in the world.
ဧဝမေဝံ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, တယောမေ ဂိလာနူပမာ ပုဂ္ဂလာ သန္တော သံဝိဇ္ဇမာနာ လောကသ္မိံ၊ ကတမေ တယော? ဣဓ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဧကစ္စော ပုဂ္ဂလော လဘန္တော ဝါ တထာဂတံ ဒဿနာယ အလဘန္တော ဝါ တထာဂတံ ဒဿနာယ, လဘန္တော ဝါ တထာဂတပ္ပဝေဒိတံ ဓမ္မဝိနယံ သဝနာယ အလဘန္တော ဝါ တထာဂတပ္ပဝေဒိတံ ဓမ္မဝိနယံ သဝနာယ နေဝ ဩက္ကမတိ နိယာမံ ကုသလေသု ဓမ္မေသု သမ္မတ္တံ၊
In the same way, these three people similar to patients are found in the world. What three? Some people don’t enter the sure path with regards to skillful qualities, regardless of whether or not they get to see a Realized One, and to hear the teaching and training that he proclaims.
ဣဓ, ပန, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဧကစ္စော ပုဂ္ဂလော လဘန္တော ဝါ တထာဂတံ ဒဿနာယ အလဘန္တော ဝါ တထာဂတံ ဒဿနာယ, လဘန္တော ဝါ တထာဂတပ္ပဝေဒိတံ ဓမ္မဝိနယံ သဝနာယ အလဘန္တော ဝါ တထာဂတပ္ပဝေဒိတံ ဓမ္မဝိနယံ သဝနာယ ဩက္ကမတိ နိယာမံ ကုသလေသု ဓမ္မေသု သမ္မတ္တံ၊
Some people do enter the sure path with regards to skillful qualities, regardless of whether or not they get to see a Realized One, and to hear the teaching and training that he proclaims.

တတြ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ယွာယံ ပုဂ္ဂလော လဘန္တောဝ တထာဂတံ ဒဿနာယ နော အလဘန္တော, လဘန္တောဝ တထာဂတပ္ပဝေဒိတံ ဓမ္မဝိနယံ သဝနာယ နော အလဘန္တော ဩက္ကမတိ နိယာမံ ကုသလေသု ဓမ္မေသု သမ္မတ္တံ, ဣမံ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ပုဂ္ဂလံ ပဋိစ္စ ဓမ္မဒေသနာ အနုညာတာ၊ ဣမဉ္စ ပန, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ပုဂ္ဂလံ ပဋိစ္စ အညေသမ္ပိ ဓမ္မော ဒေသေတဗ္ဗော၊
Now, it’s for the sake of this last person that teaching the Dhamma is prescribed, that is, the one who can enter the sure path with regards to skillful qualities, but only if they get to see a Realized One, and to hear the teaching and training that he proclaims. But also, for the sake of this person, the other people should be taught Dhamma.
ဣမေ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, တယော ဂိလာနူပမာ ပုဂ္ဂလာ သန္တော သံဝိဇ္ဇမာနာ လောကသ္မိန်”တိ၊
These are the three people similar to patients found in the world.”
