“တီဏိမာနိ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, သမဏဿ သမဏိယာနိ သမဏကရဏီယာနိ၊ ကတမာနိ တီဏိ? အဓိသီလသိက္ခာသမာဒါနံ, အဓိစိတ္တသိက္ခာသမာဒါနံ, အဓိပညာသိက္ခာသမာဒါနံ—ဣမာနိ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, တီဏိ သမဏဿ သမဏိယာနိ သမဏကရဏီယာနိ၊
“Bhikkhus, there are three duties of an ascetic. What three? Undertaking the training in the higher ethics, the higher mind, and the higher wisdom. These are the three duties of an ascetic.
တသ္မာတိဟ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဧဝံ သိက္ခိတဗ္ဗံ: ‘တိဗ္ဗော နော ဆန္ဒော ဘဝိဿတိ အဓိသီလသိက္ခာသမာဒါနေ, တိဗ္ဗော နော ဆန္ဒော ဘဝိဿတိ အဓိစိတ္တသိက္ခာသမာဒါနေ, တိဗ္ဗော နော ဆန္ဒော ဘဝိဿတိ အဓိပညာသိက္ခာသမာဒါနေ'တိ၊ ဧဝဉှိ ဝေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, သိက္ခိတဗ္ဗန်”တိ၊
So you should train like this: ‘We will have keen enthusiasm for undertaking the training in the higher ethics, the higher mind, and the higher wisdom.’ That’s how you should train.”
