“‘สมโณ'ติ, ภิกฺขเว, ตถาคตเสฺสตํ อธิวจนํ อรหโต สมฺมาสมฺพุทฺธสฺสฯ ‘พฺราหฺมโณ'ติ, ภิกฺขเว, ตถาคตเสฺสตํ อธิวจนํ อรหโต สมฺมาสมฺพุทฺธสฺสฯ ‘เวทคู'ติ, ภิกฺขเว, ตถาคตเสฺสตํ อธิวจนํ อรหโต สมฺมาสมฺพุทฺธสฺสฯ ‘ภิสกฺโก'ติ, ภิกฺขเว, ตถาคตเสฺสตํ อธิวจนํ อรหโต สมฺมาสมฺพุทฺธสฺสฯ ‘นิมฺมโล'ติ, ภิกฺขเว, ตถาคตเสฺสตํ อธิวจนํ อรหโต สมฺมาสมฺพุทฺธสฺสฯ ‘วิมโล'ติ, ภิกฺขเว, ตถาคตเสฺสตํ อธิวจนํ อรหโต สมฺมาสมฺพุทฺธสฺสฯ ‘ญาณี'ติ, ภิกฺขเว, ตถาคตเสฺสตํ อธิวจนํ อรหโต สมฺมาสมฺพุทฺธสฺสฯ ‘วิมุตฺโต'ติ, ภิกฺขเว, ตถาคตเสฺสตํ อธิวจนํ อรหโต สมฺมาสมฺพุทฺธสฺสาติฯ
“‘Ascetic’ is a term for the Realized One, the perfected one, the fully awakened Buddha. ‘Brahmin’, ‘Knowledge Master’, ‘Healer’, ‘Unstained’, ‘Immaculate’, ‘Knower’, and ‘Freed’ are terms for the Realized One, the perfected one, the fully awakened Buddha.
ยํ สมเณน ปตฺตพฺพํ, พฺราหฺมเณน วุสีมตา; ยํ เวทคุนา ปตฺตพฺพํ, ภิสกฺเกน อนุตฺตรํฯ
The supreme should be attained by an ascetic, a brahmin who has lived the life; it should be attained by a knowledge master, a healer.
ยํ นิมฺมเลน ปตฺตพฺพํ, วิมเลน สุจีมตา; ยํ ญาณินา จ ปตฺตพฺพํ, วิมุตฺเตน อนุตฺตรํฯ
The supreme should be attained by the unstained, stainless and pure; it should be attained by a knower, who is free.
โสหํ วิชิตสงฺคาโม, มุตฺโต โมเจมิ พนฺธนา; นาโคมฺหิ ปรมทนฺโต, อเสโข ปรินิพฺพุโต”ติฯ
I am victorious in battle! Released, I release others from their chains. I am a dragon completely tamed, an adept, I am extinguished.”
