ရုက္ခသုတ္တ
Trees
“သေယျထာပိ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ရုက္ခော ပါစီနနိန္နော ပါစီနပေါဏော ပါစီနပဗ္ဘာရော၊ သော မူလစ္ဆိန္နော ကတမေန ပပတေယျာ”တိ?
“Bhikkhus, suppose a tree slants, slopes, and inclines to the east. If it was cut off at the root, where would it fall?”
“ယေန, ဘန္တေ, နိန္နော ယေန ပေါဏော ယေန ပဗ္ဘာရော”တိ၊
“Sir, it would fall in the direction that it slants, slopes, and inclines.”
“ဧဝမေဝ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဘိက္ခု အရိယံ အဋ္ဌင်္ဂိကံ မဂ္ဂံ ဘာဝေန္တော အရိယံ အဋ္ဌင်္ဂိကံ မဂ္ဂံ ဗဟုလီကရောန္တော နိဗ္ဗာနနိန္နော ဟောတိ နိဗ္ဗာနပေါဏော နိဗ္ဗာနပဗ္ဘာရော၊
“In the same way, a bhikkhu who develops and cultivates the noble eightfold path slants, slopes, and inclines to Nibbana.
ကထဉ္စ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဘိက္ခု အရိယံ အဋ္ဌင်္ဂိကံ မဂ္ဂံ ဘာဝေန္တော အရိယံ အဋ္ဌင်္ဂိကံ မဂ္ဂံ ဗဟုလီကရောန္တော နိဗ္ဗာနနိန္နော ဟောတိ နိဗ္ဗာနပေါဏော နိဗ္ဗာနပဗ္ဘာရော? ဣဓ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဘိက္ခု သမ္မာဒိဋ္ဌိံ ဘာဝေတိ ဝိဝေကနိဿိတံ ဝိရာဂနိဿိတံ နိရောဓနိဿိတံ ဝေါဿဂ္ဂပရိဏာမိံ …ပေ… သမ္မာသမာဓိံ ဘာဝေတိ ဝိဝေကနိဿိတံ ဝိရာဂနိဿိတံ နိရောဓနိဿိတံ ဝေါဿဂ္ဂပရိဏာမိံ … ဧဝံ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဘိက္ခု အရိယံ အဋ္ဌင်္ဂိကံ မဂ္ဂံ ဘာဝေန္တော အရိယံ အဋ္ဌင်္ဂိကံ မဂ္ဂံ ဗဟုလီကရောန္တော နိဗ္ဗာနနိန္နော ဟောတိ နိဗ္ဗာနပေါဏော နိဗ္ဗာနပဗ္ဘာရော”တိ၊
And how does a bhikkhu who develops the noble eightfold path slant, slope, and incline to Nibbana? It’s when a bhikkhu develops right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right samādhi, which rely on seclusion, fading away, and cessation, and ripen as letting go. That’s how a bhikkhu who develops and cultivates the noble eightfold path slants, slopes, and inclines to Nibbana.”
