Acacia Leaves
“ယော, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဧဝံ ဝဒေယျ: ‘အဟံ ဒုက္ခံ အရိယသစ္စံ ယထာဘူတံ အနဘိသမေစ္စ, ဒုက္ခသမုဒယံ အရိယသစ္စံ ယထာဘူတံ အနဘိသမေစ္စ, ဒုက္ခနိရောဓံ အရိယသစ္စံ ယထာဘူတံ အနဘိသမေစ္စ, ဒုက္ခနိရောဓဂါမိနိံ ပဋိပဒံ အရိယသစ္စံ ယထာဘူတံ အနဘိသမေစ္စ သမ္မာ ဒုက္ခဿန္တံ ကရိဿာမီ'တိ—နေတံ ဌာနံ ဝိဇ္ဇတိ၊
“Bhikkhus, suppose someone were to say: ‘Without truly comprehending the noble truths of suffering, its origin, its cessation, and the path, I will completely make an end of suffering.’ That is not possible.
သေယျထာပိ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ယော ဧဝံ ဝဒေယျ: ‘အဟံ ခဒိရပတ္တာနံ ဝါ သရလပတ္တာနံ ဝါ အာမလကပတ္တာနံ ဝါ ပုဋံ ကရိတွာ ဥဒကံ ဝါ တာလပတ္တံ ဝါ အာဟရိဿာမီ'တိ—နေတံ ဌာနံ ဝိဇ္ဇတိ; ဧဝမေဝ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ယော ဧဝံ ဝဒေယျ: ‘အဟံ ဒုက္ခံ အရိယသစ္စံ ယထာဘူတံ အနဘိသမေစ္စ …ပေ… ဒုက္ခနိရောဓဂါမိနိံ ပဋိပဒံ အရိယသစ္စံ ယထာဘူတံ အနဘိသမေစ္စ သမ္မာ ဒုက္ခဿန္တံ ကရိဿာမီ'တိ—နေတံ ဌာနံ ဝိဇ္ဇတိ၊
It’s as if someone were to say: ‘I’ll make a basket out of acacia leaves or pine needles or myrobalan leaves, and use it to carry water or a palm frond.’ That is not possible. In the same way, suppose someone were to say: ‘Without truly comprehending the noble truths of suffering, its origin, its cessation, and the path, I will completely make an end of suffering.’ That is not possible.
ယော စ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဧဝံ ဝဒေယျ: ‘အဟံ ဒုက္ခံ အရိယသစ္စံ ယထာဘူတံ အဘိသမေစ္စ, ဒုက္ခသမုဒယံ အရိယသစ္စံ ယထာဘူတံ အဘိသမေစ္စ, ဒုက္ခနိရောဓံ အရိယသစ္စံ ယထာဘူတံ အဘိသမေစ္စ, ဒုက္ခနိရောဓဂါမိနိံ ပဋိပဒံ အရိယသစ္စံ ယထာဘူတံ အဘိသမေစ္စ သမ္မာ ဒုက္ခဿန္တံ ကရိဿာမီ'တိ—ဌာနမေတံ ဝိဇ္ဇတိ၊
But suppose someone were to say: ‘After truly comprehending the noble truths of suffering, its origin, its cessation, and the path, I will completely make an end of suffering.’ That is possible.
သေယျထာပိ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ယော ဧဝံ ဝဒေယျ: ‘အဟံ ပဒုမပတ္တာနံ ဝါ ပလာသပတ္တာနံ ဝါ မာလုဝပတ္တာနံ ဝါ ပုဋံ ကရိတွာ ဥဒကံ ဝါ တာလပတ္တံ ဝါ အာဟရိဿာမီ'တိ—ဌာနမေတံ ဝိဇ္ဇတိ; ဧဝမေဝ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ယော ဧဝံ ဝဒေယျ: ‘အဟံ ဒုက္ခံ အရိယသစ္စံ ယထာဘူတံ အဘိသမေစ္စ …ပေ… ဒုက္ခနိရောဓဂါမိနိံ ပဋိပဒံ အရိယသစ္စံ ယထာဘူတံ အဘိသမေစ္စ သမ္မာ ဒုက္ခဿန္တံ ကရိဿာမီ'တိ—ဌာနမေတံ ဝိဇ္ဇတိ၊

In the same way, suppose someone were to say: ‘After truly comprehending the noble truths of suffering, its origin, its cessation, and the path, I will completely make an end of suffering.’ That is possible.
တသ္မာတိဟ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ‘ဣဒံ ဒုက္ခန်'တိ ယောဂေါ ကရဏီယော …ပေ… ‘အယံ ဒုက္ခနိရောဓဂါမိနီ ပဋိပဒါ'တိ ယောဂေါ ကရဏီယော”တိ၊
