සාවත්ථියං විහරති.
At Sāvatthī.
“දාරුණෝ, භික්ඛවේ, ලාභසක්කාරසිලෝකෝ.
“Possessions, honor, and popularity are brutal …
ලාභසක්කාරසිලෝකෝ, භික්ඛවේ, ඡවිං ඡින්දති, ඡවිං ඡේත්වා චම්මං ඡින්දති, චම්මං ඡේත්වා මංසං ඡින්දති, මංසං ඡේත්වා න්හාරුං ඡින්දති, න්හාරුං ඡේත්වා අට්ඨිං ඡින්දති, අට්ඨිං ඡේත්වා අට්ඨිමිඤ්ජං ආහච්ච තිට්ඨති.
They cut through the outer skin, the inner skin, the flesh, sinews, and bones, until they reach the marrow and stay pressing there.
ඒවං දාරුණෝ ඛෝ, භික්ඛවේ, ලාභසක්කාරසිලෝකෝ …පේ… ඒවඤ්හි වෝ භික්ඛවේ, සික්ඛිතබ්බන්”ති.
So brutal are possessions, honor, and popularity. …”
