Danger
“‘ဘယန်'တိ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ကာမာနမေတံ အဓိဝစနံ၊ ‘ဒုက္ခန်'တိ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ကာမာနမေတံ အဓိဝစနံ၊ ‘ရောဂေါ'တိ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ကာမာနမေတံ အဓိဝစနံ၊ ‘ဂဏ္ဍော'တိ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ကာမာနမေတံ အဓိဝစနံ၊ ‘သလ္လန်'တိ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ကာမာနမေတံ အဓိဝစနံ၊ ‘သင်္ဂေါ'တိ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ကာမာနမေတံ အဓိဝစနံ၊ ‘ပင်္ကော'တိ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ကာမာနမေတံ အဓိဝစနံ၊ ‘ဂဗ္ဘော'တိ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ကာမာနမေတံ အဓိဝစနံ၊ ကသ္မာ စ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ‘ဘယန်'တိ ကာမာနမေတံ အဓိဝစနံ? ယသ္မာ စ ကာမရာဂရတ္တာယံ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဆန္ဒရာဂဝိနိဗဒ္ဓေါ ဒိဋ္ဌဓမ္မိကာပိ ဘယာ န ပရိမုစ္စတိ, သမ္ပရာယိကာပိ ဘယာ န ပရိမုစ္စတိ, တသ္မာ ‘ဘယန်'တိ ကာမာနမေတံ အဓိဝစနံ၊ ကသ္မာ စ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ‘ဒုက္ခန်'တိ …ပေ… ‘ရောဂေါ'တိ … ‘ဂဏ္ဍော'တိ … ‘သလ္လန်'တိ … ‘သင်္ဂေါ'တိ … ‘ပင်္ကော'တိ … ‘ဂဗ္ဘော'တိ ကာမာနမေတံ အဓိဝစနံ? ယသ္မာ စ ကာမရာဂရတ္တာယံ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဆန္ဒရာဂဝိနိဗဒ္ဓေါ ဒိဋ္ဌဓမ္မိကာပိ ဂဗ္ဘာ န ပရိမုစ္စတိ, သမ္ပရာယိကာပိ ဂဗ္ဘာ န ပရိမုစ္စတိ, တသ္မာ ‘ဂဗ္ဘော'တိ ကာမာနမေတံ အဓိဝစနံ၊
“Bhikkhus, ‘danger’ is a term for sensual pleasures. ‘Suffering’, ‘disease’, ‘boil’, ‘dart’, ‘snare’, ‘bog’, and ‘womb’ are terms for sensual pleasures. And why is ‘danger’ a term for sensual pleasures? Someone who is besotted by sensual greed and shackled by lustful desire is not freed from dangers in the present life or in lives to come. That is why ‘danger’ is a term for sensual pleasures. And why are ‘suffering’, ‘disease’, ‘boil’, ‘dart’, ‘snare’, ‘bog’, and ‘womb’ terms for sensual pleasures? Someone who is besotted by sensual greed and shackled by lustful desire is not freed from wombs in the present life or in lives to come. That is why ‘womb’ is a term for sensual pleasures.
ဘယံ ဒုက္ခဉ္စ ရောဂေါ စ, ဂဏ္ဍော သလ္လဉ္စ သင်္ဂေါ စ; ပင်္ကော ဂဗ္ဘော စ ဥဘယံ, ဧတေ ကာမာ ပဝုစ္စန္တိ; ယတ္ထ သတ္တော ပုထုဇ္ဇနော၊
Danger, suffering, and disease, boil, dart, and snare, and bogs and wombs both. These describe the sensual pleasures to which ordinary people are attached.
ဩတိဏ္ဏော သာတရူပေန, ပုန ဂဗ္ဘာယ ဂစ္ဆတိ; ယတော စ ဘိက္ခု အာတာပီ, သမ္ပဇညံ န ရိစ္စတိ၊
Swamped by things that seem pleasant, you go to another womb. But when a bhikkhu is keen, and doesn’t forget awareness,
သော ဣမံ ပလိပထံ ဒုဂ္ဂံ, အတိက္ကမ္မ တထာဝိဓော; ပဇံ ဇာတိဇရူပေတံ, ဖန္ဒမာနံ အဝေက္ခတီ”တိ၊
in this way they transcend this grueling swamp. They watch this population flounder, fallen into rebirth and old age.”
