The Ending of Defilements
“បញ្ចិមេ, ភិក្ខវេ, ធម្មា ភាវិតា ពហុលីកតា អាសវានំ ខយាយ សំវត្តន្តិ។ កតមេ បញ្ច? ឥធ, ភិក្ខវេ, ភិក្ខុ អសុភានុបស្សី កាយេ វិហរតិ, អាហារេ បដិកូលសញ្ញី, សព្ពលោកេ អនភិរតសញ្ញី, សព្ពសង្ខារេសុ អនិច្ចានុបស្សី, មរណសញ្ញា ខោ បនស្ស អជ្ឈត្តំ សូបដ្ឋិតា ហោតិ។ ឥមេ ខោ, ភិក្ខវេ, បញ្ច ធម្មា ភាវិតា ពហុលីកតា អាសវានំ ខយាយ សំវត្តន្តី”តិ។
“Bhikkhus, these five things, when developed and cultivated, lead to the ending of defilements. What five? A bhikkhu meditates watching, again and again, the ugliness of the body, perceives the repulsiveness of food, perceives non-obsession with the whole world, observes the impermanence of all conditions, and has well established the perception of their own death. These five things, when developed and cultivated, lead to the ending of defilements.”
