Wilderness
“ចតូហិ, ភិក្ខវេ, ធម្មេហិ សមន្នាគតោ ភិក្ខុ នាលំ អរញ្ញវនបត្ថានិ បន្តានិ សេនាសនានិ បដិសេវិតុំ។ កតមេហិ ចតូហិ? កាមវិតក្កេន, ព្យាបាទវិតក្កេន, វិហិំសាវិតក្កេន, ទុប្បញ្ញោ ហោតិ ជឡោ ឯលមូគោ—ឥមេហិ ខោ, ភិក្ខវេ, ចតូហិ ធម្មេហិ សមន្នាគតោ ភិក្ខុ នាលំ អរញ្ញវនបត្ថានិ បន្តានិ សេនាសនានិ បដិសេវិតុំ។
“Bhikkhus, when a bhikkhu has four qualities they’re not ready to frequent remote lodgings in the wilderness and the forest. What four? They have sensual, malicious, and cruel thoughts; or they’re witless, dull, and stupid. When a bhikkhu has these four qualities they’re not ready to frequent remote lodgings in the wilderness and the forest.
ចតូហិ, ភិក្ខវេ, ធម្មេហិ សមន្នាគតោ ភិក្ខុ អលំ អរញ្ញវនបត្ថានិ បន្តានិ សេនាសនានិ បដិសេវិតុំ។ កតមេហិ ចតូហិ? នេក្ខម្មវិតក្កេន, អព្យាបាទវិតក្កេន, អវិហិំសាវិតក្កេន, បញ្ញវា ហោតិ អជឡោ អនេលមូគោ—ឥមេហិ ខោ, ភិក្ខវេ, ចតូហិ ធម្មេហិ សមន្នាគតោ ភិក្ខុ អលំ អរញ្ញវនបត្ថានិ បន្តានិ សេនាសនានិ បដិសេវិតុន៑”តិ។
When a bhikkhu has four qualities they’re ready to frequent remote lodgings in the wilderness and the forest. What four? They have thoughts of renunciation, good will, and harmlessness; and they’re wise, bright, and clever. When a bhikkhu has these four qualities they’re ready to frequent remote lodgings in the wilderness and the forest.”
