อทลิทฺทสุตฺต
Prosperous
“‘อทลิทฺโท, อทลิทฺโท'ติ, ภนฺเต, วุจฺจติฯ กิตฺตาวตา นุ โข, ภนฺเต, ‘อทลิทฺโท'ติ วุจฺจตี”ติ?
“Sir, they speak of someone who is ‘prosperous’. How is a prosperous person defined?”
“สตฺตนฺนํ โข, ภิกฺขุ, โพชฺฌงฺคานํ ภาวิตตฺตา พหุลีกตตฺตา ‘อทลิทฺโท'ติ วุจฺจติฯ กตเมสํ สตฺตนฺนํ? สติสมฺโพชฺฌงฺคสฺส …เป… อุเปกฺขาสมฺโพชฺฌงฺคสฺส—อิเมสํ โข, ภิกฺขุ, สตฺตนฺนํ โพชฺฌงฺคานํ ภาวิตตฺตา พหุลีกตตฺตา ‘อทลิทฺโท'ติ วุจฺจตี”ติฯ
“Bhikkhu, they’re called prosperous because they’ve developed and cultivated the seven awakening factors. What seven? The awakening factors of mindfulness, investigation of principles, energy, (mental) joy, tranquility, samādhi, and equanimity. They’re called prosperous because they’ve developed and cultivated these seven awakening factors.”
