Who Should Give Ordination
“បញ្ចហិ, ភិក្ខវេ, ធម្មេហិ សមន្នាគតេន ភិក្ខុនា ឧបសម្បាទេតព្ពំ។ កតមេហិ បញ្ចហិ? ឥធ, ភិក្ខវេ, ភិក្ខុ អសេខេន សីលក្ខន្ធេន សមន្នាគតោ ហោតិ; អសេខេន សមាធិក្ខន្ធេន សមន្នាគតោ ហោតិ; អសេខេន បញ្ញាក្ខន្ធេន សមន្នាគតោ ហោតិ; អសេខេន វិមុត្តិក្ខន្ធេន សមន្នាគតោ ហោតិ; អសេខេន វិមុត្តិញាណទស្សនក្ខន្ធេន សមន្នាគតោ ហោតិ។ ឥមេហិ ខោ, ភិក្ខវេ, បញ្ចហិ ធម្មេហិ សមន្នាគតេន ភិក្ខុនា ឧបសម្បាទេតព្ពន៑”តិ។
“Bhikkhus, ordination should be given by a bhikkhu with five qualities. What five? It’s a bhikkhu who has the entire spectrum of an adept’s ethics, samādhi, wisdom, freedom, and the knowledge and vision of freedom. Ordination should be given by a bhikkhu with these five qualities.”
