At Sāvatthī.
ตตฺร โข ภควา เอตทโวจฯ
There the Buddha said:
“ปญฺจิมานิ, ภิกฺขเว, อินฺทฺริยานิฯ กตมานิ ปญฺจ? สทฺธินฺทฺริยํ, วีริยินฺทฺริยํ, สตินฺทฺริยํ, สมาธินฺทฺริยํ, ปญฺญินฺทฺริยํ—อิมานิ โข, ภิกฺขเว, ปญฺจินฺทฺริยานี”ติฯ
“Bhikkhus, there are these five faculties. What five? The faculties of faith, energy, mindfulness, samādhi, and wisdom. These are the five faculties.”
