Good Conduct
“चत्तारिमानि, भिक्खवे, वचीसुचरितानि। कतमानि चत्तारि? सच्चवाचा, अपिसुणा वाचा, सण्हा वाचा, मन्तभासा—इमानि खो, भिक्खवे, चत्तारि वचीसुचरितानी”ति।
“Cattārimāni, bhikkhave, vacīsucaritāni. Katamāni cattāri? Saccavācā, apisuṇā vācā, saṇhā vācā, mantabhāsā—Imāni kho, bhikkhave, cattāri vacīsucaritānī”ti.
“Bhikkhus, there are these four kinds of good conduct by way of speech. What four? Speech that’s true, harmonious, gentle, and thoughtful. These are the four kinds of good conduct by way of speech.”
