पभासुत्त

Pabhāsutta

Radiance

“चतस्सो इमा, भिक्खवे, पभा। कतमा चतस्सो? चन्दप्पभा, सूरियप्पभा, अग्गिप्पभा, पञ्ञापभा—इमा खो, भिक्खवे, चतस्सो पभा। एतदग्गं, भिक्खवे, इमासं चतुन्नं पभानं यदिदं पञ्ञापभा”ति।

“Catasso imā, bhikkhave, pabhā. Katamā catasso? Candappabhā, sūriyappabhā, aggippabhā, paññāpabhā—imā kho, bhikkhave, catasso pabhā. Etadaggaṁ, bhikkhave, imāsaṁ catunnaṁ pabhānaṁ yadidaṁ paññāpabhā”ti.

“Bhikkhus, there are these four kinds of radiance. What four? The radiance of the moon, sun, fire, and wisdom. These are the four kinds of radiance. The best of these four kinds of radiance is the radiance of wisdom.”
