Brightness

“चतस्सो इमा, भिक्खवे, आभा। कतमा चतस्सो? चन्दाभा, सूरियाभा, अग्गाभा, पञ्ञाभा—इमा खो, भिक्खवे, चतस्सो आभा। एतदग्गं, भिक्खवे, इमासं चतुन्नं आभानं यदिदं पञ्ञाभा”ति।

“Catasso imā, bhikkhave, ābhā. Katamā catasso? Candābhā, sūriyābhā, aggābhā, paññābhā—imā kho, bhikkhave, catasso ābhā. Etadaggaṁ, bhikkhave, imāsaṁ catunnaṁ ābhānaṁ yadidaṁ paññābhā”ti.

“Bhikkhus, there are these four kinds of brightness. What four? The brightness of the moon, sun, fire, and wisdom. These are the four kinds of brightness. The best of these four kinds of brightness is the brightness of wisdom.”
