“ยํ, ภิกฺขเว, สีลวนฺโต ปพฺพชิตา คามํ วา นิคมํ วา อุปนิสฺสาย วิหรนฺติฯ ตตฺถ มนุสฺสา ตีหิ ฐาเนหิ พหุํ ปุญฺญํ ปสวนฺติฯ กตเมหิ ตีหิ? กาเยน, วาจาย, มนสาฯ ยํ, ภิกฺขเว, สีลวนฺโต ปพฺพชิตา คามํ วา นิคมํ วา อุปนิสฺสาย วิหรนฺติฯ ตตฺถ มนุสฺสา อิเมหิ ตีหิ ฐาเนหิ พหุํ ปุญฺญํ ปสวนฺตี”ติฯ
“Bhikkhus, when ethical renunciates are supported by a town or village, the people there make much merit in three ways. What three? By way of body, speech, and mind. When ethical renunciates are supported by a town or village, the people there make much merit in these three ways.”
