“ติณฺณํ, ภิกฺขเว, สมฺมุขีภาวา สทฺโธ กุลปุตฺโต พหุํ ปุญฺญํ ปสวติฯ กตเมสํ ติณฺณํ? สทฺธาย, ภิกฺขเว, สมฺมุขีภาวา สทฺโธ กุลปุตฺโต พหุํ ปุญฺญํ ปสวติฯ เทยฺยธมฺมสฺส, ภิกฺขเว, สมฺมุขีภาวา สทฺโธ กุลปุตฺโต พหุํ ปุญฺญํ ปสวติฯ ทกฺขิเณยฺยานํ, ภิกฺขเว, สมฺมุขีภาวา สทฺโธ กุลปุตฺโต พหุํ ปุญฺญํ ปสวติฯ อิเมสํ โข, ภิกฺขเว, ติณฺณํ สมฺมุขีภาวา สทฺโธ กุลปุตฺโต พหุํ ปุญฺญํ ปสวตี”ติฯ
“Bhikkhus, when three things are present, a faithful gentleman makes much merit. What three? When faith is present, when a gift to give is present, and when those worthy of a religious donation are present. When these three things are present, a faithful gentleman makes much merit.”
