“สนิมิตฺตา, ภิกฺขเว, อุปฺปชฺชนฺติ ปาปกา อกุสลา ธมฺมา, โน อนิมิตฺตาฯ ตเสฺสว นิมิตฺตสฺส ปหานา เอวํ เต ปาปกา อกุสลา ธมฺมา น โหนฺตี”ติฯ
“Bad, unskillful qualities, bhikkhus, arise with a cause, not without a cause. By giving up that cause, those bad, unskillful qualities do not occur.”

“Bad, unskillful qualities, bhikkhus, arise with a source, not without a source. By giving up that source, those bad, unskillful qualities do not occur.”
