Intention
සාවත්ථිනිදානං.
At Sāvatthī.
“යෝ ඛෝ, භික්ඛවේ, රූපසඤ්චේතනාය උප්පාදෝ ඨිති …පේ… ජරාමරණස්ස පාතුභාවෝ …පේ… යෝ ධම්මසඤ්චේතනාය උප්පාදෝ ඨිති අභිනිබ්බත්ති පාතුභාවෝ, දුක්ඛස්සේසෝ උප්පාදෝ, රෝගානං ඨිති, ජරාමරණස්ස පාතුභාවෝ. යෝ ච ඛෝ, භික්ඛවේ, රූපසඤ්චේතනාය නිරෝධෝ …පේ… ජරාමරණස්ස අත්ථඞ්ගමෝ …පේ… යෝ ධම්මසඤ්චේතනාය නිරෝධෝ වූපසමෝ අත්ථඞ්ගමෝ, දුක්ඛස්සේසෝ නිරෝධෝ, රෝගානං වූපසමෝ, ජරාමරණස්ස අත්ථඞ්ගමෝ”ති.
“Bhikkhus, the arising of intentions regarding sights … intentions regarding thoughts … is the manifestation of old age and death. The cessation of intentions regarding sights … intentions regarding thoughts … is the ending of old age and death.”
