“ราคสฺส, ภิกฺขเว, อภิญฺญาย จตฺตาโร ธมฺมา ภาเวตพฺพาฯ กตเม จตฺตาโร? อิธ, ภิกฺขเว, ภิกฺขุ อนุปฺปนฺนานํ ปาปกานํ อกุสลานํ ธมฺมานํ อนุปฺปาทาย ฉนฺทํ ชเนติ วายมติ วีริยํ อารภติ จิตฺตํ ปคฺคณฺหาติ ปทหติ; อุปฺปนฺนานํ ปาปกานํ อกุสลานํ ธมฺมานํ ปหานาย …เป… อนุปฺปนฺนานํ กุสลานํ ธมฺมานํ อุปฺปาทาย …เป… อุปฺปนฺนานํ กุสลานํ ธมฺมานํ ฐิติยา อสมฺโมสาย ภิโยฺยภาวาย เวปุลฺลาย ภาวนาย ปาริปูริยา ฉนฺทํ ชเนติ วายมติ วีริยํ อารภติ จิตฺตํ ปคฺคณฺหาติ ปทหติฯ ราคสฺส, ภิกฺขเว, อภิญฺญาย อิเม จตฺตาโร ธมฺมา ภาเวตพฺพา”ติฯ
“For insight into greed, four things should be developed. What four? Firstly, a bhikkhu generates enthusiasm, tries, makes an effort, exerts the mind, and strives so that bad, unskillful qualities don’t arise. …so that unskillful qualities that have arisen are given up … so that skillful qualities arise … so that skillful qualities that have arisen remain, are not lost, but increase, mature, and are fulfilled by development. For insight into greed, these four things should be developed.”
