Samādhi
සාවත්ථිනිදානං.
At Sāvatthī.
“අරියං වෝ, භික්ඛවේ, සම්මාසමාධිං දේසේස්සාමි සෞපනිසං සපරික්ඛාරං. තං සුණාථ.
“Bhikkhus, I will teach you noble right samādhi with its vital conditions and its prerequisites. Listen …
කතමෝ ච, භික්ඛවේ, අරියෝ සම්මාසමාධි සෞපනිසෝ සපරික්ඛාරෝ? සේය්යථිදං—සම්මාදිට්ඨි …පේ… සම්මාසති.
And what is noble right samādhi with its vital conditions and its prerequisites? There are right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, and right mindfulness.
යා ඛෝ, භික්ඛවේ, ඉමේහි සත්තහඞ්ගේහි චිත්තස්ස ඒකග්ගතා සපරික්ඛාරතා—අයං වුච්චති, භික්ඛවේ, අරියෝ සම්මාසමාධි සෞපනිසෝ ඉතිපි සපරික්ඛාරෝ ඉතිපී”ති.
Unification of mind with these seven factors as prerequisites is called noble right samādhi ‘with its vital conditions’ and ‘with its prerequisites’.”
