A Bungalow
“သေယျထာပိ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ကူဋာဂါရဿ ယာ ကာစိ ဂေါပါနသိယော, သဗ္ဗာ တာ ကူဋနိန္နာ ကူဋပေါဏာ ကူဋပဗ္ဘာရာ; ဧဝမေဝ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဘိက္ခု သတ္တ ဗောဇ္ဈင်္ဂေ ဘာဝေန္တော သတ္တ ဗောဇ္ဈင်္ဂေ ဗဟုလီကရောန္တော နိဗ္ဗာနနိန္နော ဟောတိ နိဗ္ဗာနပေါဏော နိဗ္ဗာနပဗ္ဘာရော၊
“Bhikkhus, the rafters of a bungalow all slant, slope, and incline to the peak. In the same way, a bhikkhu who develops and cultivates the seven awakening factors slants, slopes, and inclines to Nibbana.
ကထဉ္စ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဘိက္ခု သတ္တ ဗောဇ္ဈင်္ဂေ ဘာဝေန္တော သတ္တ ဗောဇ္ဈင်္ဂေ ဗဟုလီကရောန္တော နိဗ္ဗာနနိန္နော ဟောတိ နိဗ္ဗာနပေါဏော နိဗ္ဗာနပဗ္ဘာရော? ဣဓ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဘိက္ခု သတိသမ္ဗောဇ္ဈင်္ဂံ ဘာဝေတိ ဝိဝေကနိဿိတံ ဝိရာဂနိဿိတံ နိရောဓနိဿိတံ ဝေါဿဂ္ဂပရိဏာမိံ …ပေ… ဥပေက္ခာသမ္ဗောဇ္ဈင်္ဂံ ဘာဝေတိ ဝိဝေကနိဿိတံ ဝိရာဂနိဿိတံ နိရောဓနိဿိတံ ဝေါဿဂ္ဂပရိဏာမိံ၊ ဧဝံ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဘိက္ခု သတ္တ ဗောဇ္ဈင်္ဂေ ဘာဝေန္တော သတ္တ ဗောဇ္ဈင်္ဂေ ဗဟုလီကရောန္တော နိဗ္ဗာနနိန္နော ဟောတိ နိဗ္ဗာနပေါဏော နိဗ္ဗာနပဗ္ဘာရော”တိ၊
And how does a bhikkhu who develops the seven awakening factors slant, slope, and incline to Nibbana? It’s when a bhikkhu develops the awakening factors of mindfulness, investigation of principles, energy, (mental) joy, tranquility, samādhi, and equanimity, which rely on seclusion, fading away, and cessation, and ripen as letting go. That’s how a bhikkhu who develops and cultivates the seven awakening factors slants, slopes, and inclines to Nibbana.”
