How Giving Helps to Become Womb-Born, Etc.
သာဝတ္ထိနိဒါနံ၊
At Sāvatthī.
ဧကမန္တံ နိသိန္နော ခေါ သော ဘိက္ခု ဘဂဝန္တံ ဧတဒဝေါစ:
Seated to one side, that bhikkhu said to the Buddha:
“ကော နု ခေါ, ဘန္တေ, ဟေတု, ကော ပစ္စယော, ယေန မိဓေကစ္စော ကာယဿ ဘေဒါ ပရံ မရဏာ ဇလာဗုဇာနံ သုပဏ္ဏာနံ …ပေ… သံသေဒဇာနံ သုပဏ္ဏာနံ …ပေ… ဩပပါတိကာနံ သုပဏ္ဏာနံ သဟဗျတံ ဥပပဇ္ဇတီ”တိ?
“Sir, what is the cause, what is the reason why someone, when their body breaks up, after death, is reborn in the company of the womb-born phoenixes … moisture-born phoenixes … or spontaneously-born phoenixes?”
“ဣဓ, ဘိက္ခု, ဧကစ္စော ကာယေန ဒွယကာရီ ဟောတိ, ဝါစာယ ဒွယကာရီ, မနသာ ဒွယကာရီ၊ တဿ သုတံ ဟောတိ: ‘ဩပပါတိကာ သုပဏ္ဏာ ဒီဃာယုကာ ဝဏ္ဏဝန္တော သုခဗဟုလာ'တိ၊ တဿ ဧဝံ ဟောတိ: ‘အဟော ဝတာဟံ ကာယဿ ဘေဒါ ပရံ မရဏာ ဩပပါတိကာနံ သုပဏ္ဏာနံ သဟဗျတံ ဥပပဇ္ဇေယျန်'တိ၊ သော အန္နံ ဒေတိ …ပေ… ပါနံ ဒေတိ …ပေ… ပဒီပေယျံ ဒေတိ၊ သော ကာယဿ ဘေဒါ ပရံ မရဏာ ဩပပါတိကာနံ သုပဏ္ဏာနံ သဟဗျတံ ဥပပဇ္ဇတိ၊ အယံ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခု, ဟေတု, အယံ ပစ္စယော, ယေန မိဓေကစ္စော ကာယဿ ဘေဒါ ပရံ မရဏာ ဩပပါတိကာနံ သုပဏ္ဏာနံ သဟဗျတံ ဥပပဇ္ဇတီ”တိ၊
