အထ ခေါ အနာထပိဏ္ဍိကော ဂဟပတိ ယေန ဘဂဝါ တေနုပသင်္ကမိ; ဥပသင်္ကမိတွာ ဘဂဝန္တံ အဘိဝါဒေတွာ ဧကမန္တံ နိသီဒိ၊ ဧကမန္တံ နိသိန္နံ ခေါ အနာထပိဏ္ဍိကံ ဂဟပတိံ ဘဂဝါ ဧတဒဝေါစ:
Then the householder Anāthapiṇḍika went up to the Buddha, bowed, and sat down to one side. The Buddha said to him:
“စတူဟိ ခေါ, ဂဟပတိ, ဓမ္မေဟိ သမန္နာဂတော အရိယသာဝကော ဂိဟိသာမီစိပဋိပဒံ ပဋိပန္နော ဟောတိ ယသောပဋိလာဘိနိံ သဂ္ဂသံဝတ္တနိကံ၊ ကတမေဟိ စတူဟိ? ဣဓ, ဂဟပတိ, အရိယသာဝကော ဘိက္ခုသင်္ဃံ ပစ္စုပဋ္ဌိတော ဟောတိ စီဝရေန, ဘိက္ခုသင်္ဃံ ပစ္စုပဋ္ဌိတော ဟောတိ ပိဏ္ဍပါတေန, ဘိက္ခုသင်္ဃံ ပစ္စုပဋ္ဌိတော ဟောတိ သေနာသနေန, ဘိက္ခုသင်္ဃံ ပစ္စုပဋ္ဌိတော ဟောတိ ဂိလာနပ္ပစ္စယဘေသဇ္ဇပရိက္ခာရေန၊ ဣမေဟိ ခေါ, ဂဟပတိ, စတူဟိ ဓမ္မေဟိ သမန္နာဂတော အရိယသာဝကော ဂိဟိသာမီစိပဋိပဒံ ပဋိပန္နော ဟောတိ ယသောပဋိလာဘိနိံ သဂ္ဂသံဝတ္တနိကန္တိ၊
“Householder, when a noble disciple does four things they are practicing appropriately for a layperson, which brings fame and leads to heaven. What four? It’s when a noble disciple serves the bhikkhu Saṅgha with robes, almsfood, lodgings, and medicines and supplies for the sick. When a noble disciple does these four things they are practicing appropriately for a layperson, which brings fame and leads to heaven.
ဂိဟိသာမီစိပဋိပဒံ, ပဋိပဇ္ဇန္တိ ပဏ္ဍိတာ; သမ္မဂ္ဂတေ သီလဝန္တေ, စီဝရေန ဥပဋ္ဌိတာ၊
Those who are astute practice the way that’s appropriate for laypeople. They provide those who are ethical and on the right path with robes,
ပိဏ္ဍပါတသယနေန, ဂိလာနပ္ပစ္စယေန စ; တေသံ ဒိဝါ စ ရတ္တော စ, သဒါ ပုညံ ပဝဍ္ဎတိ; သဂ္ဂဉ္စ ကမတိဋ္ဌာနံ, ကမ္မံ ကတွာန ဘဒ္ဒကန်”တိ၊
almsfood, lodgings, and supplies for the sick. Their merit always grows by day and by night. They pass on to a place in heaven, having done excellent deeds.”

တဿုဒ္ဒါနံ
ဒွေ ပုညာဘိသန္ဒာ ဒွေ စ, သံဝါသာ သမဇီဝိနော; သုပ္ပဝါသာ သုဒတ္တော စ, ဘောဇနံ ဂိဟိသာမိစီတိ၊
