“ปาปญฺจ โว, ภิกฺขเว, เทเสสฺสามิ, ปาเปน ปาปตรญฺจ; กลฺยาณญฺจ, กลฺยาเณน กลฺยาณตรญฺจฯ ตํ สุณาถ …เป…
“Bhikkhus, I will teach you who’s bad and who’s worse, who’s good and who’s better.
“กตโม จ, ภิกฺขเว, ปาโป? อิธ, ภิกฺขเว, เอกจฺโจ มิจฺฉาทิฏฺฐิโก โหติ …เป… มิจฺฉาญาณี โหติ, มิจฺฉาวิมุตฺติ โหติฯ อยํ วุจฺจติ, ภิกฺขเว, ปาโปฯ
And who’s bad? It’s someone who has wrong view, wrong thought, wrong speech, wrong action, wrong livelihood, wrong effort, wrong mindfulness, wrong samādhi, wrong knowledge, and wrong freedom. This is called bad.
กตโม จ, ภิกฺขเว, ปาเปน ปาปตโร? อิธ, ภิกฺขเว, เอกจฺโจ อตฺตนา จ มิจฺฉาทิฏฺฐิโก โหติ, ปรญฺจ มิจฺฉาทิฏฺฐิยา สมาทเปติ …เป… อตฺตนา จ มิจฺฉาญาณี โหติ, ปรญฺจ มิจฺฉาญาเณ สมาทเปติ; อตฺตนา จ มิจฺฉาวิมุตฺติ โหติ, ปรญฺจ มิจฺฉาวิมุตฺติยา สมาทเปติฯ อยํ วุจฺจติ, ภิกฺขเว, ปาเปน ปาปตโรฯ
And who’s worse? It’s someone who has wrong view, wrong thought, wrong speech, wrong action, wrong livelihood, wrong effort, wrong mindfulness, wrong samādhi, wrong knowledge, and wrong freedom. And they encourage others in these same qualities. This is called worse.
กตโม จ, ภิกฺขเว, กลฺยาโณ? อิธ, ภิกฺขเว, เอกจฺโจ สมฺมาทิฏฺฐิโก โหติ …เป… สมฺมาญาณี โหติ, สมฺมาวิมุตฺติ โหติฯ อยํ วุจฺจติ, ภิกฺขเว, กลฺยาโณฯ
And who’s good? It’s someone who has right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, right samādhi, right knowledge, and right freedom. This is called good.

And who’s better? It’s someone who has right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, right samādhi, right knowledge, and right freedom. And they encourage others in these same qualities. This is called better.”
