The Results of Misconduct
“ပါဏာတိပါတော, ဘိက္ခဝေ, အာသေဝိတော ဘာဝိတော ဗဟုလီကတော နိရယသံဝတ္တနိကော တိရစ္ဆာနယောနိသံဝတ္တနိကော ပေတ္တိဝိသယသံဝတ္တနိကော၊ ယော သဗ္ဗလဟုသော ပါဏာတိပါတဿ ဝိပါကော, မနုဿဘူတဿ အပ္ပါယုကသံဝတ္တနိကော ဟောတိ၊
“Bhikkhus, the killing of living creatures, when cultivated, developed, and practiced, leads to hell, the animal realm, or the ghost realm. The minimum result it leads to for a human being is a short life span.
အဒိန္နာဒါနံ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, အာသေဝိတံ ဘာဝိတံ ဗဟုလီကတံ နိရယသံဝတ္တနိကံ တိရစ္ဆာနယောနိသံဝတ္တနိကံ ပေတ္တိဝိသယသံဝတ္တနိကံ၊ ယော သဗ္ဗလဟုသော အဒိန္နာဒါနဿ ဝိပါကော, မနုဿဘူတဿ ဘောဂဗျသနသံဝတ္တနိကော ဟောတိ၊
Stealing, when cultivated, developed, and practiced, leads to hell, the animal realm, or the ghost realm. The minimum result it leads to for a human being is loss of wealth.
ကာမေသုမိစ္ဆာစာရော, ဘိက္ခဝေ, အာသေဝိတော ဘာဝိတော ဗဟုလီကတော နိရယသံဝတ္တနိကော တိရစ္ဆာနယောနိသံဝတ္တနိကော ပေတ္တိဝိသယသံဝတ္တနိကော၊ ယော သဗ္ဗလဟုသော ကာမေသုမိစ္ဆာစာရဿ ဝိပါကော, မနုဿဘူတဿ သပတ္တဝေရသံဝတ္တနိကော ဟောတိ၊
Sexual misconduct, when cultivated, developed, and practiced, leads to hell, the animal realm, or the ghost realm. The minimum result it leads to for a human being is rivalry and enmity.
မုသာဝါဒေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, အာသေဝိတော ဘာဝိတော ဗဟုလီကတော နိရယသံဝတ္တနိကော တိရစ္ဆာနယောနိသံဝတ္တနိကော ပေတ္တိဝိသယသံဝတ္တနိကော၊ ယော သဗ္ဗလဟုသော မုသာဝါဒဿ ဝိပါကော, မနုဿဘူတဿ အဘူတဗ္ဘက္ခာနသံဝတ္တနိကော ဟောတိ၊
Lying, when cultivated, developed, and practiced, leads to hell, the animal realm, or the ghost realm. The minimum result it leads to for a human being is false accusations.
ပိသုဏာ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဝါစာ အာသေဝိတာ ဘာဝိတာ ဗဟုလီကတာ နိရယသံဝတ္တနိကာ တိရစ္ဆာနယောနိသံဝတ္တနိကာ ပေတ္တိဝိသယသံဝတ္တနိကာ၊ ယော သဗ္ဗလဟုသော ပိသုဏာယ ဝါစာယ ဝိပါကော, မနုဿဘူတဿ မိတ္တေဟိ ဘေဒနသံဝတ္တနိကော ဟောတိ၊
Divisive speech, when cultivated, developed, and practiced, leads to hell, the animal realm, or the ghost realm. The minimum result it leads to for a human being is being divided against friends.
ဖရုသာ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဝါစာ အာသေဝိတာ ဘာဝိတာ ဗဟုလီကတာ နိရယသံဝတ္တနိကာ တိရစ္ဆာနယောနိသံဝတ္တနိကာ ပေတ္တိဝိသယသံဝတ္တနိကာ၊ ယော သဗ္ဗလဟုသော ဖရုသာယ ဝါစာယ ဝိပါကော, မနုဿဘူတဿ အမနာပသဒ္ဒသံဝတ္တနိကော ဟောတိ၊
Harsh speech, when cultivated, developed, and practiced, leads to hell, the animal realm, or the ghost realm. The minimum result it leads to for a human being is hearing disagreeable things.
သမ္ဖပ္ပလာပေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, အာသေဝိတော ဘာဝိတော ဗဟုလီကတော နိရယသံဝတ္တနိကော တိရစ္ဆာနယောနိသံဝတ္တနိကော ပေတ္တိဝိသယသံဝတ္တနိကော၊ ယော သဗ္ဗလဟုသော သမ္ဖပ္ပလာပဿ ဝိပါကော, မနုဿဘူတဿ အနာဒေယျဝါစာသံဝတ္တနိကော ဟောတိ၊
Talking nonsense, when cultivated, developed, and practiced, leads to hell, the animal realm, or the ghost realm. The minimum result it leads to for a human being is that no-one takes what you say seriously.
သုရာမေရယပါနံ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, အာသေဝိတံ ဘာဝိတံ ဗဟုလီကတံ နိရယသံဝတ္တနိကံ တိရစ္ဆာနယောနိသံဝတ္တနိကံ ပေတ္တိဝိသယသံဝတ္တနိကံ၊ ယော သဗ္ဗလဟုသော သုရာမေရယပါနဿ ဝိပါကော, မနုဿဘူတဿ ဥမ္မတ္တကသံဝတ္တနိကော ဟောတီ”တိ၊
Taking alcoholic drinks that cause negligence, when cultivated, developed, and practiced, leads to hell, the animal realm, or the ghost realm. The minimum result it leads to for a human being is madness.”
