Awakening Factors
“សត្ត វោ, ភិក្ខវេ, អបរិហានិយេ ធម្មេ ទេសេស្សាមិ។ តំ សុណាថ, សាធុកំ មនសិ ករោថ …បេ… កតមេ ច, ភិក្ខវេ, សត្ត អបរិហានិយា ធម្មា? យាវកីវញ្ច, ភិក្ខវេ, ភិក្ខូ សតិសម្ពោជ្ឈង្គំ ភាវេស្សន្តិ; វុទ្ធិយេវ, ភិក្ខវេ, ភិក្ខូនំ បាដិកង្ខា, នោ បរិហានិ។ យាវកីវញ្ច, ភិក្ខវេ, ភិក្ខូ ធម្មវិចយសម្ពោជ្ឈង្គំ ភាវេស្សន្តិ …បេ… វីរិយសម្ពោជ្ឈង្គំ ភាវេស្សន្តិ … បីតិសម្ពោជ្ឈង្គំ ភាវេស្សន្តិ … បស្សទ្ធិសម្ពោជ្ឈង្គំ ភាវេស្សន្តិ … សមាធិសម្ពោជ្ឈង្គំ ភាវេស្សន្តិ … ឧបេក្ខាសម្ពោជ្ឈង្គំ ភាវេស្សន្តិ; វុទ្ធិយេវ, ភិក្ខវេ, ភិក្ខូនំ បាដិកង្ខា, នោ បរិហានិ។
“Bhikkhus, I will teach you seven principles that prevent decline. Listen and apply your mind well … And what are the seven principles that prevent decline? As long as the bhikkhus develop the awakening factor of mindfulness … investigation of principles … energy … (mental) joy … tranquility … samādhi … equanimity, they can expect growth, not decline.
យាវកីវញ្ច, ភិក្ខវេ, ឥមេ សត្ត អបរិហានិយា ធម្មា ភិក្ខូសុ ឋស្សន្តិ, ឥមេសុ ច សត្តសុ អបរិហានិយេសុ ធម្មេសុ ភិក្ខូ សន្ទិស្សិស្សន្តិ; វុទ្ធិយេវ, ភិក្ខវេ, ភិក្ខូនំ បាដិកង្ខា, នោ បរិហានី”តិ។
As long as these seven principles that prevent decline last among the bhikkhus, and as long as the bhikkhus are seen following them, they can expect growth, not decline.”
