ဘဒ္ဒကသုတ္တ
A Good Death
တတြ ခေါ အာယသ္မာ သာရိပုတ္တော ဘိက္ခူ အာမန္တေသိ: “အာဝုသော ဘိက္ခဝေ”တိ၊
There Sāriputta addressed the bhikkhus: “Friends, bhikkhus!”
“အာဝုသော”တိ ခေါ တေ ဘိက္ခူ အာယသ္မတော သာရိပုတ္တဿ ပစ္စဿောသုံ၊ အာယသ္မာ သာရိပုတ္တော ဧတဒဝေါစ:
“Friend,” they replied. Sāriputta said this:
“တထာ တထာ, အာဝုသော, ဘိက္ခု ဝိဟာရံ ကပ္ပေတိ ယထာ ယထာဿ ဝိဟာရံ ကပ္ပယတော န ဘဒ္ဒကံ မရဏံ ဟောတိ, န ဘဒ္ဒိကာ ကာလကိရိယာ၊ ကထဉ္စာဝုသော, ဘိက္ခု တထာ တထာ ဝိဟာရံ ကပ္ပေတိ ယထာ ယထာဿ ဝိဟာရံ ကပ္ပယတော န ဘဒ္ဒကံ မရဏံ ဟောတိ, န ဘဒ္ဒိကာ ကာလကိရိယာ?
“A bhikkhu lives life so as to not have a good death. And how do they live life so as to not have a good death?
ဣဓာဝုသော, ဘိက္ခု ကမ္မာရာမော ဟောတိ ကမ္မရတော ကမ္မာရာမတံ အနုယုတ္တော, ဘဿာရာမော ဟောတိ ဘဿရတော ဘဿာရာမတံ အနုယုတ္တော, နိဒ္ဒါရာမော ဟောတိ နိဒ္ဒါရတော နိဒ္ဒါရာမတံ အနုယုတ္တော, သင်္ဂဏိကာရာမော ဟောတိ သင်္ဂဏိကရတော သင်္ဂဏိကာရာမတံ အနုယုတ္တော, သံသဂ္ဂါရာမော ဟောတိ သံသဂ္ဂရတော သံသဂ္ဂါရာမတံ အနုယုတ္တော, ပပဉ္စာရာမော ဟောတိ ပပဉ္စရတော ပပဉ္စာရာမတံ အနုယုတ္တော၊ ဧဝံ ခေါ, အာဝုသော, ဘိက္ခု တထာ တထာ ဝိဟာရံ ကပ္ပေတိ ယထာ ယထာဿ ဝိဟာရံ ကပ္ပယတော န ဘဒ္ဒကံ မရဏံ ဟောတိ, န ဘဒ္ဒိကာ ကာလကိရိယာ၊ အယံ ဝုစ္စတာဝုသော: ‘ဘိက္ခု သက္ကာယာဘိရတော နပ္ပဇဟာသိ သက္ကာယံ သမ္မာ ဒုက္ခဿ အန္တကိရိယာယ'၊
Take a bhikkhu who relishes work, talk, sleep, company, closeness, and proliferation. They love these things and like to relish them. A bhikkhu who lives life like this does not have a good death. This is called a bhikkhu who enjoys identity, who hasn’t given up identity to rightly make an end of suffering.
တထာ တထာဝုသော, ဘိက္ခု ဝိဟာရံ ကပ္ပေတိ ယထာ ယထာဿ ဝိဟာရံ ကပ္ပယတော ဘဒ္ဒကံ မရဏံ ဟောတိ, ဘဒ္ဒိကာ ကာလကိရိယာ၊ ကထဉ္စာဝုသော, ဘိက္ခု တထာ တထာ ဝိဟာရံ ကပ္ပေတိ ယထာ ယထာဿ ဝိဟာရံ ကပ္ပယတော ဘဒ္ဒကံ မရဏံ ဟောတိ, ဘဒ္ဒိကာ ကာလကိရိယာ?
A bhikkhu lives life so as to have a good death. And how do they live life so as to have a good death?
ဣဓာဝုသော, ဘိက္ခု န ကမ္မာရာမော ဟောတိ န ကမ္မရတော န ကမ္မာရာမတံ အနုယုတ္တော, န ဘဿာရာမော ဟောတိ န ဘဿရတော န ဘဿာရာမတံ အနုယုတ္တော, န နိဒ္ဒါရာမော ဟောတိ န နိဒ္ဒါရတော န နိဒ္ဒါရာမတံ အနုယုတ္တော, န သင်္ဂဏိကာရာမော ဟောတိ န သင်္ဂဏိကရတော န သင်္ဂဏိကာရာမတံ အနုယုတ္တော, န သံသဂ္ဂါရာမော ဟောတိ န သံသဂ္ဂရတော န သံသဂ္ဂါရာမတံ အနုယုတ္တော, န ပပဉ္စာရာမော ဟောတိ န ပပဉ္စရတော န ပပဉ္စာရာမတံ အနုယုတ္တော၊ ဧဝံ ခေါ, အာဝုသော, ဘိက္ခု တထာ တထာ ဝိဟာရံ ကပ္ပေတိ ယထာ ယထာဿ ဝိဟာရံ ကပ္ပယတော ဘဒ္ဒကံ မရဏံ ဟောတိ, ဘဒ္ဒိကာ ကာလကိရိယာ၊ အယံ ဝုစ္စတာဝုသော: ‘ဘိက္ခု နိဗ္ဗာနာဘိရတော ပဇဟာသိ သက္ကာယံ သမ္မာ ဒုက္ခဿ အန္တကိရိယာယာ'တိ၊
Take a bhikkhu who doesn’t relish work, talk, sleep, company, closeness, and proliferation. They don’t love these things or like to relish them. A bhikkhu who lives life like this has a good death. This is called a bhikkhu who delights in Nibbana, who has given up identity to rightly make an end of suffering.
ယော ပပဉ္စမနုယုတ္တော, ပပဉ္စာဘိရတော မဂေါ; ဝိရာဓယီ သော နိဗ္ဗာနံ, ယောဂက္ခေမံ အနုတ္တရံ၊
A beast who likes to proliferate, enjoying proliferation, fails to win Nibbana, the supreme sanctuary from the yoke.
ယော စ ပပဉ္စံ ဟိတွာန, နိပ္ပပဉ္စပဒေ ရတော; အာရာဓယီ သော နိဗ္ဗာနံ, ယောဂက္ခေမံ အနုတ္တရန်”တိ၊
But one who gives up proliferation, enjoying the state of non-proliferation, wins Nibbana, the supreme sanctuary from the yoke.”
