Complete Understanding of the Exterior
“รูเป, ภิกฺขเว, อนภิชานํ อปริชานํ อวิราชยํ อปฺปชหํ อภพฺโพ ทุกฺขกฺขยายฯ สทฺเท … คนฺเธ … รเส … โผฏฺฐพฺเพ … ธมฺเม อนภิชานํ อปริชานํ อวิราชยํ อปฺปชหํ อภพฺโพ ทุกฺขกฺขยายฯ
“Bhikkhus, without directly knowing and completely understanding sights … sounds … smells … tastes … touches … thoughts, without dispassion for them and giving them up, you can’t end suffering.
รูเป จ โข, ภิกฺขเว, อภิชานํ ปริชานํ วิราชยํ ปชหํ ภพฺโพ ทุกฺขกฺขยายฯ สทฺเท … คนฺเธ … รเส … โผฏฺฐพฺเพ … ธมฺเม อภิชานํ ปริชานํ วิราชยํ ปชหํ ภพฺโพ ทุกฺขกฺขยายา”ติฯ
By directly knowing and completely understanding sights … sounds … smells … tastes … touches … thoughts, having dispassion for them and giving them up, you can end suffering.”
