Interior and Cause Are Not-Self
“චක්ඛුං, භික්ඛවේ, අනත්තා. යෝපි හේතු, යෝපි පච්චයෝ චක්ඛුස්ස උප්පාදාය, සෝපි අනත්තා. අනත්තසම්භූතං, භික්ඛවේ, චක්ඛු කුතෝ අත්තා භවිස්සති …පේ…
“Bhikkhus, the eye is not-self. The cause and reason that gives rise to the eye is also not-self. Since the eye is produced by what is not-self, how could it be self?
ජිව්හා අනත්තා. යෝපි හේතු යෝපි පච්චයෝ ජිව්හාය උප්පාදාය, සෝපි අනත්තා. අනත්තසම්භූතා, භික්ඛවේ, ජිව්හා කුතෝ අත්තා භවිස්සති …පේ… මනෝ අනත්තා. යෝපි හේතු යෝපි පච්චයෝ මනස්ස උප්පාදාය, සෝපි අනත්තා. අනත්තසම්භූතෝ, භික්ඛවේ, මනෝ කුතෝ අත්තා භවිස්සති.
The ear … nose … tongue … body … mind is not-self. The cause and reason that gives rise to the mind is also not-self. Since the mind is produced by what is not-self, how could it be self?
ඒවං පස්සං …පේ… නාපරං ඉත්ථත්තායා(අ)ති පජානාතී”ති.
Seeing this … They understand: ‘… there is no return to any state of existence.’”
