สารชฺชสุตฺต
Timidity
“ปญฺจหิ, ภิกฺขเว, ธมฺเมหิ สมนฺนาคโต ภิกฺขุ สารชฺชํ โอกฺกนฺโต โหติฯ กตเมหิ ปญฺจหิ? อิธ, ภิกฺขเว, ภิกฺขุ อสฺสทฺโธ โหติ, ทุสฺสีโล โหติ, อปฺปสฺสุโต โหติ, กุสีโต โหติ, ทุปฺปญฺโญ โหติฯ อิเมหิ โข, ภิกฺขเว, ปญฺจหิ, ธมฺเมหิ สมนฺนาคโต ภิกฺขุ สารชฺชํ โอกฺกนฺโต โหติฯ
“Bhikkhus, a bhikkhu with five qualities is overcome by timidity. What five? It’s when a bhikkhu is faithless, unethical, with little learning, lazy, and witless. A bhikkhu with these five qualities is overcome by timidity.
ปญฺจหิ, ภิกฺขเว, ธมฺเมหิ สมนฺนาคโต ภิกฺขุ วิสารโท โหติฯ กตเมหิ ปญฺจหิ? อิธ, ภิกฺขเว, ภิกฺขุ สทฺโธ โหติ, สีลวา โหติ, พหุสฺสุโต โหติ, อารทฺธวีริโย โหติ, ปญฺญวา โหติฯ อิเมหิ โข, ภิกฺขเว, ปญฺจหิ ธมฺเมหิ สมนฺนาคโต ภิกฺขุ วิสารโท โหตี”ติฯ
A bhikkhu with five qualities is self-assured. What five? It’s when a bhikkhu is faithful, ethical, learned, energetic, and wise. A bhikkhu with these five qualities is self-assured.”
