ตตฺร โข อายสฺมา สาริปุตฺโต ภิกฺขู อามนฺเตสิ …เป…
There Venerable Sāriputta addressed the bhikkhus:
ปญฺจหิ, อาวุโส, ธมฺเมหิ สมนฺนาคโต ภิกฺขุ อลํสาชีโว สพฺรหฺมจารีนํฯ กตเมหิ ปญฺจหิ?
“A bhikkhu with five qualities is fit to share their life with their spiritual companions. What five?
อิธาวุโส, ภิกฺขุ อตฺตนา จ สีลสมฺปนฺโน โหติ, สีลสมฺปทากถาย จ อาคตํ ปญฺหํ พฺยากตฺตา โหติ;
A bhikkhu is personally accomplished in ethics, and answers questions that come up when discussing accomplishment in ethics.
อตฺตนา จ สมาธิสมฺปนฺโน โหติ, สมาธิสมฺปทากถาย จ อาคตํ ปญฺหํ พฺยากตฺตา โหติ;

อตฺตนา จ วิมุตฺติญาณทสฺสนสมฺปนฺโน โหติ, วิมุตฺติญาณทสฺสนสมฺปทากถาย จ อาคตํ ปญฺหํ พฺยากตฺตา โหติฯ
They’re personally accomplished in the knowledge and vision of freedom, and they answer questions that come up when discussing accomplishment in the knowledge and vision of freedom.
อิเมหิ โข, อาวุโส, ปญฺจหิ ธมฺเมหิ สมนฺนาคโต ภิกฺขุ อลํสาชีโว สพฺรหฺมจารีนนฺ”ติฯ
