The Finest Lady in the Land
សាវត្ថិយំ វិហរតិ។
At Sāvatthī.
“ទារុណោ, ភិក្ខវេ, លាភសក្ការសិលោកោ …បេ…
“Possessions, honor, and popularity are brutal …
ន តស្ស, ភិក្ខវេ, ជនបទកល្យាណី ឯកា ឯកស្ស ចិត្តំ បរិយាទាយ តិដ្ឋតិ យស្ស លាភសក្ការសិលោកោ ចិត្តំ បរិយាទាយ តិដ្ឋតិ។
Even if you’re alone with the finest lady in the land she might not occupy your mind, but possessions, honor and popularity would still occupy your mind.
ឯវំ ទារុណោ ខោ, ភិក្ខវេ, លាភសក្ការសិលោកោ …បេ… ឯវញ្ហិ វោ, ភិក្ខវេ, សិក្ខិតព្ពន៑”តិ។
So brutal are possessions, honor, and popularity. …”
